A region's water crisis

Northwest Georgia is in the midst of what environmentalists are calling an extreme drought, which is also being felt in Northeast Alabama. Rainfall is lacking as local reservoirs and rivers shrink. Parched land, receding shorelines and shallow wells in the area have water officials monitoring water supply levels. The region is under a Level 4 water restriction order prohibiting outdoor watering. But even with watering restrictions, water usage is up throughout the region.
