HB 89 is the gun carry bill that would allow concealed gun permit folks to carry a gun onto state parks and in their cars onto business parking lots.
One reason we never camp/mountain bike/hike on state parks is the inability to bring a concealed gun. We always take a pistol when we do those actvities...you never know these days when you may need to defend yourself.

I normally don't post from emails, but this came from a trusted friend and was from a trusted friend of hers. That being said, according to snopes.com, it is a false email, although, I am still not convinced that the soldier recanted his story of his own free will. Be that as it may, the pictures and videos could have been done at a later date, but neither you nor I were there, so neither one of us really knows for sure. I believe also that the Bible says something about not judging one another and it appears that you are very quick to judge me and you don't know me. Quite frankly, I don't like either of the candidates for president, but for me it will come down to the lesser of two evils. Rather a sad situation in my book. I don't have a lot of confidence in either candidate.

And while you may have ONE YEAR blogging on another site, that still doesn't mean you know me nor that you can draw conclusions as to my character from one post. I suppose you have never made a mistake.

By the way, while we might not agree on much, I would like to thank your son for serving our country and fighting to preserve our freedom.

Just read the article about Bill Clark calling a meeting of the Economic Development Board that is posted on the Catoosa County News site. He is wanting to get started fast on taking advantage of the Wolkswagen plant coming.

Let me tell you..... Catoosa County is going to end up watching other areas benefit from the VW plant and NOT gaining one thing for itself. Let's face it.... NOBODY in this county knows what to do to encourage economic development in the county. I have watched this effort for the last 20+ years.
No one wants to make the "Investments" necessary for things to start happening. Everybody just thinks we are the perfect location, etc... that all we have to do is hang out our "welcome sign" and business will flock here.

The Economic Development Board is probably the best people we have but they have not been given the money, tools, etc.... to even have a chance to succeed. Bill Clark is so against a "Spec Building". I have been to places where a county put up a spec building and attracted new business who built their own building. Then they used the same spec building to attract another business. Sooner or later someone will need a building already in place so they can set up shop quickly. A typical spec building is three walls and maybe office space finished. A company comes in and if they need more sq ft they can add on and finish the building, with whatever type floor they need, rather quickly and open shop.

Catoosa County better decide now to hire an "expert" in the economic development field, someone that can devote 100% of their day to getting the most out of this Volkswagen opportunity.

And I DO NOT mean Jeff Mullis with his multi county economic development group. I cannot believe Catoosa County ever bought into that fiasco. What has been brought in since the formation of that group? I do not know of any major business. But, I have seen several businesses close up shop.

Catoosa County better put out the money to hire a Professional or we will be sitting here in 2011 wondering why we never got any new feeder businesses for the VW plant. We will still just be a bedroom community with most of our county residents leaving the county everyday to work somewhere else.

JTScott you are right on & not Toolate about what you posted here on 07/25/08 @ 08:58:04am!

Toosavoter thinks that we believe that he has only been here a year?...........RIGHT!!

It is NOT TooLate & for sure You are a Bill Clark person, might even be one of his cronies!!!

You say "Never met Clark" but did a lot of research on the past of Catoosa...
like board decisions, the questions that were illegally placed on a
Republican Primary in the summer of 2006, you're obviously educated
beyond intelligence to read all that junk/lies about our history here of Clark!!!!

Come on...Toosavoter...you try to insult everyone's intelligence but trust that all
Bill Clark wants to do is to control every part of our County!!!!!

If we elect him again he will be more dishonest with us &
it will be TooLate for us... we will have a Big dictator!!!!!!

This county is in for more trouble if we don't wake up
before TooLate..........so go GREENE.......!!!!!!!!!!!!

While it's true I haven't been on here very long, I'm not new to blogging. I spent ONE YEAR blogging nearly daily on a site supporting my son's brigade while he was in Iraq. To quote another blogger "when you post something, you are vouching for it's credibility. Fakeness reflects poorly upon you" Might I also add that the 9th Commandment says "thou shalt not bear false witness"
Actually, I didn't think that Capt Jeffrey Porter of the Utah Army National Guard was made to recant his story. I think he was made to tell the truth. The Army Times newspaper also has an article about Capt. Porter's story being false, as does every other fact finding internet site. There are photos and video of Sen. Obama with the troops at this base. In our free country, it is certainly your right to support John McCain, Bob Barr, Ralph Nader or anyone else you choose as it is my right to support Barack Obama, however neither of us have the right to spread untruths about any of these men. That is morally wrong.

Enough already!

I realize we have several supporters of the Commissioner and Jeff Mullis on this blog, but can someone explain to me why we're paying them for doing nothing? I know, I know. They're the best thing since whipped butter. My hat is off to all the powers that be in Walker County. They may as well spend a little of the money, before it runs out, and build a fence around the entire county. Block it off from the rest of civilazation, because it won't be long before we're a ghost town. Our leaders are a joke. Where's the Chamber of Commerce during all of this? Oh! I'm sorry. You have to have commerce for the Chamber to be totally effective. Shaw closes down. The chemical plant in Kensington closes down. What businesses aren't closing down are burning down. Wait a minute? We can spend all day hunting non-existant jobs until we get hungry and have absolutely no problem finding a place to eat. On the other hand they're only paying minimum wage and will be going out of business pretty soon too if nobody has jobs. The only safe job around here is law enforcement (in the respect that the worse the economy gets the more crimes are going to be committed). Maybe Mr. Mullis can throw a few dollars into the kitty. Don't hold your breath. Someone needs to get off their keesters and get some jobs coming into the county. BeBe, in case you're unable to figure it out, a 342% increase in unemployment claims from last year simply means WE'RE GOING IN THE WRONG DIRECTION!!!!! You know, backwards instead of forward. Congratulations!

Did she have problems with depression? Was this a suicide? There are a lot of unanswered questions? How far is it from where she lived to Cloudland Canyon? My thoughts and prayers go out to her family.

CC791........

Copy and paste the following link into your browser. It's to the Catoosa County Sheriff's Department. On the left side of the page you'll find a link for inmate information. You can see whoever is in the Catoosa County Jail from there.
