Sorry for all the long postings but every American should educate themselves to what is going on in our country and what our government representatives are doing about it. |

Here is another report I just picked up on another website:WASHINGTON – While the military "quagmire" in Iraq was said to tip the scales of power in the U.S. midterm elections, most Americans have no idea more of their fellow citizens – men, women and children – were murdered this year by illegal aliens than the combined death toll of U.S. troops in Iraq and Afghanistan since those military campaigns began. Twelve Americans are murdered every day by illegal aliens, according to statistics released by Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y. If those numbers are correct, it translates to 4,380 Americans murdered annually by illegal aliens. That's 21,900 since Sept. 11, 2001. But the carnage wrought by illegal alien murderers represents only a fraction of the pool of blood spilled by American citizens as a result of an open border and un-enforced immigration laws. While King reports 12 Americans are murdered daily by illegal aliens, he says 13 are killed by drunk illegal alien drivers – for another annual death toll of 4,745. That's 23,725 since Sept. 11, 2001. In April 2005, the Government Accountability Office released a report on a study of 55,322 illegal aliens incarcerated in federal, state, and local facilities during 2003. It found the following: The 55,322 illegal aliens studied represented a total of 459,614 arrests – some eight arrests per illegal alien; Their arrests represented a total of about 700,000 criminal offenses – some 13 offenses per illegal alien; 36 percent had been arrested at least five times before. King also reports eight American children are victims of sexual abuse by illegal aliens every day – a total of 2,920 annually."While the vast majority of illegal aliens are decent people who work hard and are only trying to make a better life for themselves and their families,(something you or I would probably do if we were in their place), it is also a fact that a disproportionately high percentage of illegal aliens are criminals and sexual predators," states Peter Wagner, author of a new report called "The Dark Side of Illegal Immigration.""That is part of the dark side of illegal immigration and when we allow the 'good' in we get the 'bad' along with them. The question is, how much 'bad' is acceptable and at what price?" Read more of the article and statistics here. http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp... And what is our Governments plan to stop the illegal crime wave? Make them legal with amnesty. |

MM, you are right about one thing, those people who are supposed to be so hard working are certainly not working to build their own countries, they would rather take what Americans have already built. As for our President who thinks they do jobs Americans won't do, I have never seen a job an American wouldn't do. Americans have families to support too and they usually live one family to a single family dwelling, they cannot afford to work for the wages paid to illegal aliens. Most Americans pay income tax and property tax and health and auto insurance, most illegal aliens do not. |

Another interesting tidbit that I have found regarding illegal aliens from Mexico, is that many of them leave jobs in Mexico to come to the USA. There are companies offering monetary incentives to people deported back to Mexico and they turn them down to cross illegally back into the USA. Mexico is not the poor country we hear so much about, they are the 5th richest country in the world and most of their income is from oil and the money sent back from the USA, (an estimated 45 billion this past year.) They do have poor people and slums, so does the USA. The money is controlled by the elite in Mexico and they don't let it trickle down to the poor. The Mexican government encourages illegal immigration to the USA, can anyone guess why? They do not encourage illegal immigration into Mexico, Guatamalans coming into Mexico, trying to get to the USA, are often robbed, beaten, imprisoned, or deported, and this is by the Mexican police force. The drug cartels are fighting on the borders of Mexico and Texas. They are now sending hordes of illegal aliens across the border at one point so they can cross with their drugs at another while the border patrol is chasing the illegal aliens. What about human smuggling? Here is just part of an article I picked up on Liberty Post:Title: 109 entrants discovered at drop house Source: azstarnet URL Source: http://www..net/allheadlines/157357 Published: Nov 23, 2006 Author: Dale Quinn Border Patrol: Crossers crammed into 3-bedroom home in Rio Rico A team of plainclothes Border Patrol agents found 109 illegal entrants Tuesday in squalid living conditions in a drop house about 60 miles south of Tucson, authorities said Wednesday. The illegal border crossers were arrested, the home was seized, and six illegal entrants will likely face prosecution for human smuggling in connection with the operation of the drop house, said Sean King a U.S. Border Patrol spokesman. The case began when agents in Rio Rico — an area known for human smuggling — saw a vehicle with several passengers and later saw that same vehicle with no passengers, King said. They questioned the driver and found out he was in the country illegally, and he led them to the drop house, King said. Border Patrol agents seized the vehicle. King said living conditions in such drop houses — where smugglers hold illegal entrants until they can move them north — can be abhorrent. The entrants use buckets for toilets because the overloaded plumbing gets clogged. The homes aren't cleaned as migrants move through them, and unsanitary conditions escalate, he said. In this case, more than 100 illegal entrants were crammed into a three-bedroom home littered with soiled clothing and garbage, King said. Several women and children were preparing food in a kitchen littered with paper plates. Each room in the house was filled with people except for the master bedroom, which appeared to be the smugglers' living quarters. That room had two mattresses on the floor and closets filled with personal items, King said. Otherwise, the house had no furniture, blankets or anything that would provide comfort. "The smuggler doesn't care" about conditions in the house, King said. "All he's doing is keeping them there until he can move them north and get paid." Thirty-four of the illegal entrants were female and 75 were male. Twelve were under age 18. The Border Patrol usually will find drop houses every other week, often with about 30 illegal entrants, but sometimes as many as 70, King said. Smugglers usually limit the number of border crossers in each house to keep from attracting attention. You can check out the source for the entire article. America has become a dumping ground. Soon it will just be a dump! |

We have illegal aliens in the USA from more than 30 different countries but the vast majority of them are from Mexico because of the ease of crossing the border. Mexico's President Fox and the new incoming President Caldron are both upset with the United States for passing a bill to build a wall. Isn't it strange that their immigration laws are far stricter than ours? Here are their laws for entry posted by J. Michael Waller:The Mexican constitution strictly defines the rights of citizens, and the denial of many rights to non-citizens. The General Law on Population, spelling out the country's immigration policy, should cause Americans to ask: Why is our southern neighbor pushing us to water down our immigration laws and policies when its own immigration restrictions are the toughest on the continent? If a felony is a crime punishable by more than a year in prison, Mexican law makes it a felony to be an illegal alien in Mexico. Yet if the United States adopted such a law, Mexico would no doubt denounce it as a manifestation of American bigotry. Mexico's main immigration law welcomes only foreigners deemed useful to Mexican society: _ Foreigners are admitted into Mexico "according to their possibilities of contributing to national progress." (Article 32) _ Immigration officials must "ensure (that) immigrants will be useful elements for the country and that they have the necessary funds for their sustenance" and that of their dependents. (Article 34) _ Foreigners may be barred from the country if their presence has upset "the equilibrium of the national demographics," if they are deemed detrimental to "economic or national interests," if they are not good citizens in their own country, if they have broken Mexican laws, or if "they are not found to be physically or mentally healthy." (Article 37) _ The secretary of governance may "suspend or prohibit the admission of foreigners when he determines it to be in the national interest." (Article 38) Mexican authorities keep track of every person in the country: _ Federal, local and municipal police must cooperate with federal immigration authorities upon request: i.e., help in the arrest of illegal immigrants. (Article 73) _ A National Population Registry tracks every "individual who comprises (sic) the population of the country," verifying each individual's identity. (Articles 85 and 86) _ A national Catalogue of Foreigners tracks foreign tourists and immigrants (Article 87), assigning each a tracking number. (Article 91) Foreigners with fake papers or who enter the country under false pretenses may be imprisoned: _ Foreigners with fake immigration papers may be fined or imprisoned. (Article 116) _ Foreigners who sign government documents "with a signature that is false or different from that which he normally uses" are subject to fine and imprisonment. (Article 116) Foreigners who fail to obey the rules will be fined, deported, and/or imprisoned as felons: _ Foreigners who fail to obey a deportation order are to be punished. (Article 117) _ Deported foreigners who try to re-enter Mexico without authorization can be imprisoned for up to 10 years. (Article 118) _ Foreigners who violate terms of their visa may be sentenced for up to six years in prison. (Articles 119, 120, and 121) Foreigners who misrepresent the terms of their visa (as by working without a permit) can also be imprisoned. Under Mexican law, illegal immigration is a felony. The General Law on Population says: _ "A penalty of up to two years in prison and a fine of 300 to 5,000 pesos will be imposed on the foreigner who enters the country illegally." (Article 123) _ Foreigners with immigration problems may be deported, rather than imprisoned. (Article 125) _ Foreigners who "(make attempts) against national sovereignty or security" will be deported. (Article 126) Mexicans who help illegal aliens enter the country are considered criminals: _ A Mexican who marries a foreigner with the sole objective of helping the foreigner live in the country is subject to up to five years in prison. (Article 127) _ Shipping and airline companies that bring undocumented foreigners into Mexico will be fined. (Article 132) All of the above runs counter to what Mexican leaders are demanding of the United States. The stark contrast between Mexico's immigration practices and its American-immigration preachings reveals the Mexican government's agenda: to have a one-way immigration relationship with the United States. Let's call Mexico's bluff on its interference in U.S. immigration policy. Let us propose, just to make a point, that North American Free Trade Agreement member nations standardize their immigration laws by using Mexico's law as a model. (J. Michael Waller is a professor of international communication at the Institute of World Politics in Washington.) (Distributed by Scripps Howard News Service, www.shns.com.) |

MM, We all need to be "human", and most of us are. The fact that I am against illegal immigration does not mean that I would mistreat someone illegal. I just want American citizens educated on some of the facts about illegal aliens and what they are doing to our country. Many of these people are hard working families but that does not give them the right to break our laws. It is not our job to find out who is illegal and who is not, that is the job of our government (one that they are not doing very well). Our job is to take a stand for what we think is right and even then we will not always agree. The Rome News Tribune published one of my letters on the subject and several other papers have published some of them. I continue to write to my representatives and to talk to anyone who will listen regarding the subject. I have had to become hard nosed about the subject because it would be easy for me to feel sympathy for, especially, the children and that is exactly what the illegal aliens are hoping for. The "poor me, I'm just looking for a better life" attitude is what they depend on for a defense for breaking our laws. What they forget to say is that they want Americans to pay for the better life they are looking for. I was made aware of the problem a few years ago when an illegal alien, who worked with me, was arrested for molesting a 9 year old boy. We have plenty of homegrown criminals without importing more and had this man not been in Georgia, this boy might have reached adulthood without the trama of molestation. I have no respect for people who lie, cheat, steal and then ask for my sympathy. I respect and welcome those who take the necessary steps to come here legally. They are the ones who truly want to be Americans and it is a slap in the face to them to even consider amnesty for those who came here illegally. We cannot put all the blame on the illegal aliens though, because our government has allowed this to happen by not enforcing our laws and by their missinterpretation of the amendment allowing anchor babies (a child born in the USA to illegal parents is a citizen). The law was intended to make the children of former slaves citizens. A child born to someone illegally in the country should automatically be a citizen of the country where the mother originated. We also have to place blame on the employers who hire illegal aliens to keep wages down and landlords who rent to them so they don't have to take complaints or do repairs for them because they are afraid of being deported. We too have to accept part of the blame for not being more aware of what has been going on in our country for years and for not demanding that our government enforce our immigration laws. I guess there is plenty of blame to go around. I believe if all the incentives were removed, welfare, education, jobs, housing, all except emergency medical care, the illegal aliens would deport themselves. Many states and cities are now passing their own laws against illegal immigration, just as Georgia has and that may be what it takes to get the point across to the Federal Government that we want enforcement. We cannot allow our government to lull us back to sleep with peacemeal solutions, we have to continue to make our voices heard. |

Twinkie,I know that you are right. I think it must have been one of them "human moments". Some times I feel like,we are created equal. That is true. That does,nt mean we were created in the same country.I will defend my land, even though it ain,t much. It belongs to me . AMERICA, BELONGS TO THE HARD WORKING TAX PAYING PEOPLE THAT BUILT THIS COUNTRY.Anybody else should go home and build their own country! |

Mountainman, We could all live together and share our land, except there are those who would try to take their share and steal ours too. Americans share more with other countries than most, but the problem with the illegal aliens is the theft that is going on and the breaking of our laws. There is absolutly no respect shown for our country and our people by the illegal alien who is stealing our Identification or using our welfare systems that were intended for the needs of American citizens. I for one have always been willing to share with others, but I am not willing to have what I have worked for stolen. If I broke into your house while you were at work, suppose I do a few dishes, sweep and mop the floors and make the beds, would I then be entitled to live there and have you pay for the food, rent or house payment, utitilities, etc. Oh by the way, I brought my husband along and he cut your grass so he too should be allowed to stay and all our children need an education so we've brought them too. It makes no difference if I broke into your house in the first place, your laws don't apply to me. It doesn't matter if you like it or not, we are here and we are going to stay. WHAT A CONCEPT! |

Ok, how about this:There is 5,280 feet in a mile. The border is 2000 miles long. That's 10,560,000 feet. Divide that in to $1.2 billion (9 zero's in a billion?) and I get $114 per foot. Is that good value? |

I'm all for keeping illegal immigrants out of the country and taking American jobs and pulling down the wage scale. The fence just sounds like putting a band-aid on an giant gaping infected wound. A very expensive band-aid at that. Let's use some fiscal responsibility. Hey let's start by locking up these employers and the people that do their bidding. CSS4Comm4 had a good point with putting that money toward rebuilding the Gulf Coast. While we are locking up heads of companies let's go for the insurance companies that delay and deny homeowners' coverage from Hurrican Katrina. |

The fence bill passed for our politicians to appease the American people who are against an Amnesty and now they will try to appease the offended Mexican people to regain their votes. There are somewhere between 12 and 30 million (our government isn't sure of the number) illegal aliens in the USA. They are here with no health checks and no criminal background checks. Of that number, only 7.2 million of those "hardworking illegal aliens" actually hold jobs according to the PEW Hispanic center. So, what the heck are the rest of them doing. Children were not included in the count. Many pay no taxes, by receiving cash payment or never filing their 1099's. Yet they collect benefits in the form of WIC, EBT, Section 8 housing, education for their children, emergency room medical care, etc. All paid for by American tax payers. If you check the Alipac site, you can read about the many Americans who have been killed, in auto accidents, murdered, raped, etc. by illegal aliens who have run back to their own countries to escape prosecution, only to return with a new name and SS#. How many Americans are spending thousands of dollars just to try to reclaim their own identities. How about the diseases brought into the country by illegal aliens. Illegal aliens don't just come here from South of the border, they are from more than 30 different countries. Terrorism comes in many forms and not just from the sky's. I don't know about anyone else, but I think our government should know who is here, why they are here and what they brought with them. I don't know if a fence will work, in some cases it probably will but I'm not a fense expert. I think hefty fines for employers of illegal aliens, and those who rent to them are the best course. If there are no housing facilities or jobs available to illegals, and no welfare or educational benefits, then most of them would quietly deport themselves. If the laws passed in Georgia are enforced, then that is a great start. |

The fence is a start. We have to start somewhere at some point we must say enough is enough.I've recently moved from North Ga to West Va. There are no illegals in this area and yet jobs "Americans won't do" get done. BTW what is Mexico's number one import and the amount is higher than its GDP? wire transfers from the USA to Mexico. |

It will be built. So,why try to fight it.It will mean 1ooo,s of new jobs. The gov. will just make some more money, that it can't cover. The people contracted to do the work will hire illigals to build the thing for half the cost.Once again American jobs are lost. Why don't Bush ask Mexico to pay half the bill? The only thing this fence will change as far as illigal immagration goes. Is the way they enter our country. Why not hand the money to Mexico so they can feed the hungry, then maybe they would just stay at home. |

Most of the time during the Bush years, I have supported his decisions. Now I'm starting to think maybe old Mr. Bush is still running the show. His worst blunder as president was backing off on Sadaam Who.Now he needs a new fence on his land that borders Mexico. So he tells his boy, GEORGIE,we need a new fence down on the south 700... MILES THAT IS....But why only 10 ft. high Daddy, said little George?Because Wal-Marts has just imported 2.2,0000000000000, 11 foot ladders into Mexico.Once a president, always a president. God is our only hope. |

Mexico has been raising hell for years about the cows on the Bush ranch getting in their pasture. The only solution is a 1.2,000,000,000,000,000 fence. That may be a few to many 0,s, but who is keeping up anyway. That is a lot of cows!I mean BULL! |

I wonder if this bill included any additional funding for rebuilding coastal Mississippi and New Orleans? Instead of a fence, why don't they just build a bridge from Mexico to New Orleans or Southern Mississippi. I'll bet the illegal Mexican immigrants will do a heck of a lot better job at rebuilding those areas than the federal government is currently doing. At least they will work for their money and do the jobs lazy whites and lazy blacks refuse to do. But, then again, you have to consider that this is the same government that still has not rebuilt anything in that large gaping hole in New York left over 5 years ago from the 9/11/2001 attacks. I guess we're going to have to send some illegal immigrants up there to get anything done. Where are our priorities set? We spend $1.2 billion to build a fence to help control illegal immigration, but our public schools can't afford enough books for each student to have one to take home for homework. But, then again, the State of Georgia cut $1.25 billion from public school funding ($8.5 million from Catoosa County alone), causing local school systems to raise property taxes, the Governor bragged about a $500 million surplus, and the voters re-elected him and all his cronies. |

I'm confused. Is this about immigration or homeland security? What about the much larger Canadian border? Do you think the terrorist cells in Canada are watching? Send the employers to prison for hiring illegal immigrants. Show me a 10 foot fence, and I'll show you an 11 foot ladder. |
