One more thing: As many volunteers as they had show up, I feel they should continue to have searches for Theresa every single Saturday and/or Sunday until every piece of Lafayette and Chattooga and other close places within 35-40 miles has been searched. I didn't make it to the first search but would definitely give up some weekends to help look even though I don't live in Lafayette, and I know plenty of other people who would be willing to do the same. |

Murraygal - I just read the same article about him out searching on horseback for her - heartbreaking. I can't even begin to imagine what that poor family is going through. I have never met the lady in my life and for some reason I think about her all day everyday and wonder where could she be so I can just begin to imagine what they must be feeling. This could be our sister or mother - I guess that is why I think about it so much. I just wish there was something more I could do. I pray that whoever is responsible for this will find it in their hearts to do the right thing and come forward. Bring this to an end. To Theresa's family - God Bless you and continue to have faith and be strong. |

On the 24th day of Theresa Parker's disappearance, her cousin Carl Cordell is still out early on his horse, looking for her. "I went on the mountains, back around the hills, went everywhere and I just don't know where she's at" ~snip~ So as the investigation into Theresa's disappearance continues so do her relatives' concern over Theresa's whereabouts. He said, "He's told a lot of people that he could kill someone and they wouldn't know where to find them. I don't know what to do, I don't know where to look." But Cordell says he'll look in every crack, every well, and every piece of land until he finds Theresa Parker. http://www.newschannel9.com/articles/parker_11409___article.html/theresa_night.html My thoughts and prayers go out to Theresa's family. This is a nightmare. I pray that they get answers soon. Bless you Carl Cordell and everyone searching for her. |

It would seem to me that if you were abusive to one wife, you would be abusive to your other wives too. I am just wondering if there was some type of pattern.I am trying to edit one of my comments, but the edit button doesn' come up on the one I want to edit. Anybody know what I am doing wrong. |

He was abusive to his last wife. She was one of the people whom SP stated to he could kill someone and get away with it..it was in the search warrant. |

$1000 is not a lot of money. I guess the govenor's office is trying to help, but that seems like a very low amount for information. |

I have been watching this story and don't know anyone involved in this because I live in another state. I do hope for the family that she is found soon. My prayers are with this family. I do not understand why she would stay at a house by herself if she was scared of her husband and for her life. I wouldnt stay alone in a bitter divorce & be alone until all this divorce is over and some times after that...My first marriage was that type! From pictures the house looked like was not any very close neighbors and would be scary for me to go home late at night. He most likely had keys to the house, from what i read that he said her bedroom door was closed before he left on fishing trip, but open and she was not home when he returned. Is it possible that she could have been talking to someone online? Maybe someone was in the house when she got home, maybe that person pressed redial on the phone to see last number dialed from that phone for some reason? Did the sister answer and they hung up? Is it possible someone has her holding her against her will in some sort of secret place made that would be hard for someone to know about or see and overlook? Maybe that is why if no DNA showed anything out of order in the house. Her car was gone but back at house. Was all of her personal items and clothes missing? Maybe she was taken there in her car and person that abducted her returned car to her house. Sometimes with just the information released online and in the news looks sorta like a setup thing in away. Maybe someone hated SP ! Wonder if someone would have did this to get back at her husband or something involving her 911 calls? There's alot of questions I know and maybe's. Somtimes things that look like they most likely are -- is not the case sometimes or vice versa. They were suppose to remain friends I read somewhere. If he didnt want her to leave but they remain friends.. I can't see him hurting her to where he would never see or talk in passing...I just hope he was not the one really(I dont even know or seen him before btw). I dont think he lied about the explosives since I read the comment below about was for that task force thing years ago. He stated it was there from years ago. All that could have been checked out from present and past officers on that force. Somehow in my mind seems like a frame or setup to me. (If I knew these people maybe my mind would be of different thoughts possibly.) I will be glad when the person or person's that know something about this speaks out and comes clean about where, or what happen so peace can come to this family and if anything bad has happen the person responsible can set their mind free of what they did.. if she is alive to set her free please if you have her...Lastly I pray that GOD will lead someone to her and she is alright....if not lead them so she can come home and bring closure to this family..Family, friends, and most of all Theresa deserves this..Truth and only Truth will set you free one way or the other!!!! |

I thought SP was a police officer in Floyd County from 1980-1985 and then became a police officer in Walker County. I was just wondering if his former wives live in Walker County or if they are from somewhere else? Was he married to Theresa for the longest amount of time? God forbid, did any of his other wives come up missing? Are they still alive? I live in Clarksville, TN and have taken an interest in this case. I just know what I have read and seen on TV. |

Fired LaFayette police officer threatens to harm himselfSaturday, April 14, 2007 at 2:25 p.m. By Chloé Morrison Staff Writer LaFAYETTE, Ga. — Police were called to the home of the estranged husband of a missing 911 dispatcher Friday night after receiving a tip that he was trying to harm himself, authorities said Saturday. Walker County Sheriff Steve Wilson said officers responded to a 911 call from “a friend” of Sam Parker at about 8:30 p.m. Friday. Mr. Parker, who was fired from the LaFayette Police Department on Friday for having explosives stored in his locker at the police station, has been identified as a “person of interest” in the disappearance of his wife, Theresa Parker, who has been missing for 25 days. “We evaluated the call and evaluated the home (on Cordell Avenue in LaFayette), and I decided to have his sister summoned to the house,” Sheriff Wilson said. Carolyn Wooten, Mr. Parker’s sister, came to the house and talked with Mr. Parker for about 45 minutes, Sheriff Wilson said. After Mrs. Wooten talked with him, Sheriff Wilson said he talked with Mr. Parker before making a decision to call Mr. Parker’s personal physician. Mr. Parker was released to the care of his doctor, whom Sheriff Wilson declined to identify. “(I talked with Sam) about issues he was dealing with,” the sheriff said. Mr. Parker was “despondent and troubled” by the loss of his job and disappearance of his wife. Mr. Parker told the sheriff that he is being painted as guilty by the media, Sheriff Wilson said. Mr. Parker was not aggressive during the incident, Sheriff Wilson said. No new information relating to Mrs. Parker’s whereabouts came up during the incident, he said. Mr. Parker has not talked with the media, but Mrs. Wooten has given a statement that her brother had nothing to do with Mrs. Parker’s disappearance. On the 11 O'Clock news last night they reported that Sam was threatening suicide. They blocked off all roads and went in to talk to him. He might have been carried back to the hospital after those threats. Also, about the explosives being in his locker...he was a part of a task force about 10 to 12 years ago when Mike Ellis was the Sheriff. They all had a small amount of explosives assigned to them, so those had probably been in his locker since that time. My prayers are with everyone involved with this case, and hopefully it will be solved soon. |

If Sam Parker had explosives illegally then why has he not been arrested? Explosives are highly regulated and have to be accounted for. Since Sam had explosives then that means someone is missing explosives. I appears the good ol boy network is protecting poor little ol Sam. Where would one have a need for explosives? Possibly a rock quarry? Eventually this good ol boy network in Walker county will be busted including Judges, lawyers and other law enforcement personnel. This could only be the beginning of this process. And I wonder what Teresa knew for her to disapear like she did? This is only my opinion based on past experiences. |

What I meant was let's not let this case get cold.If for some reason Theresa did leave on her own and is reading this herself. We all care about you and want you to be safe and happy. If the community never knows what's happened to you atleast call home. If someone has told you not to I'm sure you family will keep quite. They just want to know your okay so they can start to sleep at night. As I said before I don't know anyone involved with this case. I have no information on this case other than what the news and the people on this blog has said. I just feel for this family and can only imagine what they are feeling. My thoughts and prayers are with you until Theresa comes home. God Bless You! |

Has anyone gave any thought to how the community can keep this case in the public eye? As clues get slower coming in this case will fall to the side as many has before. So I just thought that I'd throw you all a few ideas.1. The community could pull together and come up with money for one or two billboards (one at each end of the county on hwy 27). 2. Run a short commerical on the case 3. Start a website about her and her case Some people have talked about her running away. Here's my thoughts on that. As far as I can tell from what her family has said she wouldn't do that. But what if someone told her to make herself disappear or they'd do something to her family. Do you all think she'd leave for them? Just a thought. I don't know anyone involved in this case but just thought I'd throw out my two cents worth. |

Those of you who are wondering why he had explosives might want to consider the fact that he is in law enforcement. Policeman tend to have an interest in collecting guns and other unique items. From what I understand he had those items for many years and he accumulated them from other law enforcement colleagues. There is no cover up! Why on earth would officials want to prematurely go ahead and do a lie detector, beef up the pressue, without concrete evidence. Remember you have one shot at trying to convict someone. With a case of this nature, one must make sure they have everything in order. I did hear Sam was speaking of taking his own life. Obviously there is alot going on in all involved lives. What I don't understand is if the Chief of Police has fired him, then he needs to move on and stay out of the investigation. It has nothing to do with his department nor is he involved in any of the investigation. Sam is not longer his employee. If you know anything about a polygraph test, you know that those things can work for you or work against you. Are they permissible in court? Not sure, but depending on who is administering the test may depend on what outcome is desired. |

The news said that he had "threatened viloence against himself" I doubt he tried. Just out of curiousity I would like to know how the police got there so fast? Most people who really want to commit suicide...don't tell. Momof2 I highly doubt someone framed him but I have no idea what is going through his mind right now...maybe (and I'm not saying this its true..just what i'm thinking at the moment is all) this is his way of really playing up an insanity defense. Thats just my opinion but like I said I couldn't even begin to tell you whats going through his mind. |

sham sham there we go again blaming someone for something we have no evidence about. Anyone ever thought that someone might have framed him and he is just tired of everyone blaming him? Thats just an opinion and I don't know for sure if that is what happened and I am not trying to hurt anyone or step on any toes or take up for anyone. I just thought I would ask that? |

If this SOB kills himself then it will be even harder to find Theresa and if found there will be no prosecution. That ticks me off. Little Drama King can't stand the deep crap hole he so obviously dug for himself that he has to bail. Ridiculous. |
