The state fire marshal is offering a $10,000 reward to anyone with information that could lead to the arrest and conviction of the suspects involved in the Sherwood Forest arsons.

According to Floyd County Police Department’s Jerry Boyd, the state fire marshal has confirmed that the three fires officials responded to in Sherwood Forest last month were arsons.

The state fire marshal viewed the possible crime scenes at the vacant homes located at 22 Robin Hood Road, 5 Doncaster Drive and 18 Lionel Lane on Thursday morning.

“He did a primary investigation and located where the fires were started,” Boyd said. “All indicated arson … but we aren’t positive if any type of accelerant was used.”

To file any reports, contact the Georgia Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner at 1-800-656-2298. Signs will be posted in the Sherwood Forest area this coming week regarding reward information.

Another house in the neighborhood, located at 20 Lionel Lane, burned this weekend while the owners were in Atlanta.
