Hmmm, that's sort of strange. I remember that months ago, I accidentally clicked the wrong box and promoted to the front page a comment that I meant to delete, and then had to delete it after it had been promoted. However, that's been quite a while so I'm not sure what the explanation is for the current one. One of y'all needs to write something compelling and thought-provoking so I can print it in the paper and promote it to the top of the home page. |

Wilma2 - I wanted to let you know that there is new information about the grand jury motion. It appears the foreperson was convicted of a misdemeanor, not a felony, and was indeed eligible. Here's the story:District Attorney: Harper case juror eligible for service |

Hello everyone! I've noticed that several people are copying entire articles from other sites and pasting them on Soundoff. Please resist the urge to do so. This forum is intended to let you share YOUR opinions. If you want to mention another article, put the URL in your comment and tell us what you think about it. But these very long posts clog up the board and can scare new (and old) members off. Thank you! |

I added a forum on the fair tax since you're having such a lively discussion. Click here to go to it, or you can find it listed under "Recent Blogs" to the right. |

Hoosiermama: I was just about to remind everyone that the blogs shouldn't be used for advertising. So, everyone: Please stay on topic with your posts, or I'll have to start deleting comments (which I hate to do). |

bygracethrufaith and diogenes: The ads on Soundoff are automatically generated based on the content of the pages. Since the discussion has been largely religious-based lately, those are the keywords the ad program is using to choose which ads to display. Clear as mud? |

Just popping in to remind everyone of this part of our Posting Policy:Flaming, or the intentional enraging of the audience for deviant purposes will not be tolerated, and will result in your account being permanently shut down and your IP contacted. Let's keep it civil! |

Thank you for your suggestions. Brian, Soundoff can be used by any News Publishing Co. newspapers for blogs, and each paper chooses which stories to post. We have been attempting to do more from the Rome area lately, but the Fort Oglethorpe and LaFayette blogs often get more attention because so many people post to those stories, pushing them into "Popular Blogs." Keep checking "Recent Blogs", where we've recently added topics on the Floyd County Schools superintendent; state-funded special needs scholarships; the Cotton Block; SPLOST; and Tour de Georgia. Older Rome-area blogs can be found by clicking on "Community" and "Hot Topics." If anyone has a specific story they want to discuss, please post a request in this forum. To GaHick1, there is a current local sports blog located here: Local sports |

This is not a blog for discussing personal issues between users so don't use it as such. If we seen any more posts in that vein they will be removed and all accounts involved will be suspended until further notice. |
