I sure hope that none of these GREAT TEACHERS AND COACHES lose their jobs (possibly careers) over this. I think we all agree that poor judgement was used here, but we also need to not be too judgemental. A couple things I would like to point out.

1. They were not doing what their job entails...not coaching or teaching.

2. They used their own transportation to get there, and their own gas, the school did not buy the meal or the alchohol.

3. They were there on a voluntary basis on their free time.

(Again they did use poor judgement)

ALot of these posts I beleive are putting too much "responsibilty" or "standards" on these guys (and maybe teachers all together) We pay these folks (poorly) to educate and coach our kids, just as our teachers taught and coached us. It is not the responsibilty of our teachers to be a role model. That is the job of the parents. If that was the case, how many of us would be gay or lesbian?? How many of us would be child molesters?? How many of us would be full blown alchoholics?? I know that all reading this has had one of the above teaching you stuff but you didn't do what they chose right?? Just because these good guys made a poor choice it doesn't mean that their students are going to do the same. Here are some other things to think about......

If your butcher was a vegetarian, would you buy meat from him??
If you found out your banker has bad credit, would you borrow from him??
If your ford dealer drove a dodge???
If your hairdresser wore a wig?? (answers to all those... so what right?)

now.... If a cop gives you a dui and the next night he gets one???
a doctor amputated the wrong arm??
Your president turns out to be al-quida?? (answers to these FIRED right??


Lets not be too harsh and hope that they maintain their jobs and some dignity!!

and voterb...great comment on the "bigger jails" i bet half the people @ neyland or sanford stadium are well lit before their games. And most underaged going to a school function. and they don't know these guys.

There is a $3.00 charge to park at the canyon. Surely someone has to know when she arrived and if she was alone. Wonder why that hasn't been brought up ????
