This is not an issue of individual clubs nor personalities. This is a straight forward opportunity to review the use of tax payers dollars and whether or not we as tax payers feel such expenses are justified and necessary.

I would personally like to hear from the individual club owners. Communication between said owners has been positive in the past. There is no need to hide behind false jealousy issues in order to cover up the real reason this is of such interest to so many people.

The real reason people want to talk about this at the water cooler is because tax dollars are being wasted!

How is it possible to award an elected official the title of Citizen of the Year? Is it not fact that Bebe Heiskell was simply given an award for doing the job she was elected and highly paid to perform in the first place? Is there not a by-law which prohibits an individual currently running in a political race from "winning" such an award? Is it not peculiar that our elected County Commissioner should receive such right before an election? I for one believe there are true Citizens of the Year that walk our county street everyday without expecting anything in return.
