bygracethrufaith,
what is going on? I haven't heard about this. Is there someplace I can read about this?

Maggie,
I love your passion and your committment to what you believe to be right. Another thing is that I don't "trust" any politician. I think that they all have skeletons and will pat you on the back with their right hand while stealing your wallet from your pocket with their left. However, I tried to pick the one who maybe can deal with our current economic crisis right now. I make under 30,000.00 per year working for the state. My husband is unemployed, so if anyone gets taxed, I would really prefer that it not be me. However, if I were making 200,000 per year I wouldn't feel it as much. It would be more of an annoyance than budget altering. Also, I do not consider someone who makes 200,000 plus per year as middle income. I think this election has gotten ugly, and it breaks my heart to see people be ugly to each other.

I work for dfcs and I see that people are hurting and its getting worse. Something has got to change. I question my choice to support Obama every day. But the pickins were slim, there were only 2 choices. So it was one or the other.

Hi All,
I haven't blogged in a while. I would like to offer my thoughts on this presidential election. I was a staunch George W. supporter, both times. I have to say that my opinion has changed in the last 4 years. I thank God that we can stand in America and have the right to voice who we support or who we do not support without fear of retaliation, or retribution.

I respect anyones right to choose one candidate over another. What I have found that is so ugly, and it is quite prevalent here on this blog is that its not about who you support, its about what you dont like about someone else's choice when it differs from your own. Instead of standing and saying I support John McCain because he stands for ........... Or I support Obama because he stands for.......
I am hearing I'm for "McBama" because "OCains" friends with.... or his religious beliefs are..... Or tearing each other to shreds for their support of a candidate.

My mother supports McCain because she believes he is a good Christian man who will uphold all that she holds dear. Not because of any negative that she has heard about Obama.

I support Barach Obama because I believe he is committed to helping the lower middle class people with tax breaks. I believe he is going to be able to reach across party lines and bring a semblance of unity to our congress and senate and get our economy back on track. He has professed Christianity as his faith.

There is negative things to be said about both parties, as thankfully they are both human and prone to imperfections.

Slideshow: Sen. Barack Obama Video: Vote 2008: Key Senate Races ABC News Play Video Video: Last day of campaigning 11 News Houston AP – The public housing complex in South Boston where Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama's … CHICAGO – Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama said Saturday he didn't know his aunt was living in the United States illegally and believes that laws covering the situation should be followed.

I have to make one correction to Maggies post that when Obama was asked about his aunt, he said he didn't know she was still here. Please read the above statement by Obama as written by Nedra Pickler of the Associated Press. He said he didn't know she was here illegally. It is very possible he did not know her legal status. That is possible since he was not raised by his fathers side of the family. His father left him at age 2 and returned to Kenya. He was raised by his mother and her parents in Hawaii. He met up with his father at age 10 I think and spent about a month with him. His father died in a car crash in the early 80's. Barack met his half aunt about 20 years ago. I found this on Yahoo news. You can google it up, but that was the way I heard it a couple of days ago when it was brought up on cnn. sorry Maggie, no disrespect intended.

Anyway, be proud of who you support, and please do not attack others for who they support. To each his own.

Now now children, Fight Nice!!!

If a man were to go underground to protect his child from an abusive mother, their would be amber alerts out the ying yang. Take for instance "Baby Grace". The mother was awarded custody of this angel, because she claimed abuse by the babys father. She got custody and left the state without telling the father where she was going. No amber alerts. No.... Well the baby was found brutally beaten to death and placed in a plastic storage bin. The abuse that this baby suffered at the hands of her mother is unspeakable, then to be thrown out like a piece of trash. This father had no clue where his daughter was for 4 months. The law protected the "rights" of this woman. Now a child is dead. A child lost, a father grieving. The mother and her friend, healthy as fat horses. Yeah, the courts made a real good decision there huh.......

I wonder why it took Stacy's disappearance for the medical examiner to come forward and say he didn't believe that Savios death was accidental. I don't think anyone here is making any undo judgments about DP, because of the facts that have been reported and confirmed the finger points to him. In my opinion, and you can reference my name, he thinks that he got away with it once. My mother disagrees with me, and thinks she ran away.

Hi All, I have a question. Everyone here seems to know more about the Stacy/Drew Peterson case than I do, so maybe you will have info. I heard that Stacy's biological mother disappeared for 7 or 8 years without a trace years ago. Does anyone know if this is true? Because sometimes the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Just wondering.....

Yeah Irish, that seems to be the problem. I feel so sad for him. He has always been the provider of our family. Now he has to rely on my wages. I had told him to go in and leave his work history off his application and pretend to only speak Spanish. Lol, we'll see.

Twinkie, please don't give up on your farm. I want to buy some land and start my own organic garden and raise our own veggies. After the spinach scare and the dog food scare, I am trusting store bought products less and less. My poor dog almost died from the tainted dog food. Now all the toys that are tainted. Those agua beads even metabolized into the date rape drug if swallowed. Hello, can anyone say "planned extermination". I get the feeling that we are being targeted for extermination. Hmmmm, what a great land to take over. It is protected by oceans on both sides and non threatening countries on top and bottom. Maybe I am just a bit paranoid. That's always possible.......

Twinkie, I am thinking of you and your family. I had read some of the previous posts last nite after I left that message for you. My heart aches for your family, but I find inspiration in your courage and determination to forge ahead, even if its just for everyone else's sake. You appear to be a remarkable lady.....

As far as your post on Jose, even though it gave me a good chuckle, you are right the illegals have ruined it for the hardworking honest folks who come here to contribute to our country and live the American dream. I only found it funny because my husband presents himself the perfect, eloquent, well spoken gentleman that he is, and he can't get a job. But an illegal who cares nothing about our land, or laws, can walk in and back out with a job. It makes no sense. And these corporations continue to get away with it. A young illegal named Freddie, that worked with my husband got deported, he came back a few weeks later and was hired instantly, this time his name was Carlos. When I worked at wally world, Carlos came through my line with a debit card and other credentials under this name. My husband knew it was him because this kid was from Columbia, so that was the nickname my hubby gave him, and when he came back as Carlos, he still answered to the name Columbia. Oh well, maybe the next administration will take a stand...... Who knows...

Twinkie, are you still doing your organic garden?
