Hi Grace!Things are so weird - up, then down. Strange. Thanks for asking. How are you and yours? School brought on a blizzard of academic activity right off the bat for the fourth grader. I think she's still stunned from no transition time! ha ha ha ha ha! The second grader is already bored and trying to get out of going every day. She sees no point in going to school every day. I guess it must be like a soap opera to her - skip here and there but you still keep up with the whole picture! ha ha ha ha ha! |

We love the Olympics around here! When the girls are going to bed, if there's something particular on, they ask me to tape it so they can watch the competition later. I end up seeing things twice sometimes but that's OK. |

Mike Lester, thank you for the editorial cartoon with the six-legged deer holding up the sign running for commissioner. You put great humor on such a sore subject. Anything/anyone is better then having such a blatant liar/law breaker representing others and making decisions for them.It also brings to such clarity other problems. We need candidates. They don't have to be squeaky clean; just honest about the circumstances. The party system at the local level does provide some money but it also hurts interested people who do not have a lot of money but do not want to represent a party. And, the most obvious problem right now on the County Commission: it would take a certain sort of person to want to join the others already there. Those presently there have displayed a tremendous tolerance for Mr. Fricks lying to the police, ignoring his constituents by only addressing the Commission, and his pattern of breaking laws. It's disgusting. Better to accept a resignation. "Birds of a feather flock together." They are all looking dirty... |

ha ha ha ha ha ha haReally, it probably didn't violate policy. Heck, how long was it there? Practically forever? It was probably some sort of method to remove it. But it's a great laugh! Moderator, will you offer an explanation? |

Slynay, How much of Ann Coulter can you really take? I mean, honestly? When you don't want her as a reference? I love you, but, really? |

The law has changed in California and I can rush out there and marry someone of my own gender!! I'm so excited!! I have to start a collection and raise some money to travel there!!! Anyone want to donate? Now, don't scrutinize me too closely. But you should know what you're getting for your money. I'm not gay so I don't want sex from a person of my own gender. And, I don't want to live in CA so I want to come back here and live. I've been to CA for visits a couple of times. I have a brother who lives out there; I could visit with him and his family again. So I guess I'm asking for a vacation and for you to buy me a partner - someone who wants to be responsible for me. Anyone want to pay? Do I have to line up a partner first or do you think one will be waiting for me? |

Good grief. Cave Springs Commissioners are getting more coverage right now than what our local Floyd County Commissioners are getting in the RNT. Aren't our local guys and our local attorney newsworthy right now? IF EVER? Don't their personal actions influence their public actions? Especially since they seem to agree that they don't? |

And now we have the audio published by RNW: "According to audio received from Gordon County 911 of the Garry Fricks traffic stop and arrest, Floyd County Commissioner Garry Fricks license was suspended for “failure to appear” on a previous offense.Dispatchers ran Fricks information in their GCIC database and according to Gordon 911, Fricks was served on the failure to appear on 08/22/01. According to the information, his license was suspended on 08/29/01. If the information in the database is correct and Fricks was indeed served on 8/22/01, that would seem to dispute his assertion that he was unaware of why his license was suspended and that he was not aware of the suspension." End quote. No wonder Fricks hasn't bothered to apologize to the voters. He's too busy not procrastinating and fooling the other commissioners. In turn, they are too busy not procrastinating - trying to minimize everything so we the public will stay ignorant. |

"I'm as legal as Fricks"The motto for the county. The excuse for the commissioners, the populace, anyone who doesn't want to perform a job, wants to break a law, and on and on and on. Aren't we somethin' |

It's a disgraceful judging system no matter what country these people compete from - fair should be fair. After so many years of training.... to face less than the best judges.... shameful! It's pure joy to experience any top athlete do a superb job in competition!!
