Toosavoter,

Actually, that's not the case at all. The coaches are still on the job because they haven't done anything that deserves them to lose their job. Also, they are still on the job because there is a State investigation that will also confirm their innocence. It has nothing to do with "connections" as we all know this hit the media and was broadcast on all 3 channels for 2 weeks.

These guys made poor judgement by having a few drinks with dinner but it doesn't mean that we crucify them in the media and fire them from their jobs. They don't deserve that kind of punishment.

ByGrace,

The State of GA has just set the benchmark for the age of consent. It doesn't mean teens should necessarily have sex at that age (although most teens have engaged in sex by the time they have turned 16). The state is basically saying that teens are going to engage at some point so let's set some sort of benchmark and that is what they have done.

I agree, it is a debatable subject. Some people prob. feel that 16 is the right age of consent and some people prob. feel that 18 should be the number.

The age of consent in GA is 16; therefore, an 18 yr. old can have sex with a 16 yr. old and its perfectly legal. The problem is when an 18 yr. old has sex with anyone under 16 (for example..the 18 yr. old has sex with a 15 yr. old).

Just remember guys, your 16 yr. old daughter can make a decision to have sex with whoever she wants under GA law.

Did anyone notice that Steve got more votes than any candidate in Walker County. 16,987 total votes...Wow!

There was a lot of folks who helped in the Steve Wilson Campaign. It takes a lot of work to run an effective campaign. You can't just sit back and expect people to vote for you. You have to get out and knock on doors. That's what a lot of the volunteers for Steve Wilson did and that's what they do every campaign. As for your comment "LiveLearnLaugh", I have no idea how to take it. I don't know if you are being sincere to the person you are referring to or if their is negative vibes intended. Nevertheless, I'm sure if "Adam" reads this blog he will give you the benefit of the doubt and accept the sincerity of the comment.

I've known Rob Neal for 22 years. He is a productive member of society, a good teacher/coach, a good friend, and most of all he is a Christian. Yes, I said it....he's a Christian. Christians make mistakes (some people refer to these as sins). We all make mistakes and sin and we all fall short of the glory of God. How do I know that Rob is a Christian? Well, I was there the day he got saved back in 1990.

Rob has been a close friend of the Wilson family for years and I applaud the Sheriff for standing behind him on this issue and encouraging him to keep his head up. The Sheriff (to my knowledge) is not at all embarrassed of Rob. He is on the campaign committee for a reason...because he is a model citizen.

I challenge any of you who think you are perfect and free from mistakes to continue to casts stones at Rob and the other coaches. If you really think about it, these guys are no different than many of us. Each and every one of us have done something in our job/profession that we would like to take back. Had we not received a 2nd chance, where would we be today??

Word on the street is the school board is leaning towards 2 weeks suspension without pay. Coaches would get to keep their jobs. Charges should be dropped as early as next week after the motion is filed by their lawyers in probate court.

I am completely fine with this punishment. The coaches have been thrown under the bus and raked over the coals enough.

George Bush has been blamed for a lot of things that wasn't his fault. If he was the worst President in history then why did the American people vote him into office twice? Hmmm

I'll tell you this "LetsMakeAChange"....

I would vote for GW Bush AGAIN in a heartbeat over Obama.
