To those of you who are familiar with msla, she is having some major health issues and needs our prayers. Her health problems are life threatening and she has custody of two of her granddaughters, so please lift her up in prayer for healing, so that she will be able to take care of these precious girls.

Imaginetruth, yes I do live in Catoosa County and I have the upmost respect for our firefighters, but changes have been made and like it or not, they have to learn to live with them.

Sad comment on our society, this morning on GMA they showed a youtube video of toddlers fighting and being encouraged by the father who was taping it. Apparently there are a lot of other videos on youtube where fathers encourage little boys, under five to fight it out. This is absolutely horrible and I can't believe anyone would condone such behavior. It is one thing to teach a child to defend him/herself, but to teach them to fight and bully another child is something else. What kind of warped individuals will these children grow up to be. It is especially frightening in light of the 8 year old who has been charged in killing his father and the fathers friend. We aren't going to have to worry about our economy or terrorist, we are going to destroy our country ourselves.

CSS4, I agree, I absolutely do not like the fair tax proposal. I don't think it will work on so many levels. If they want to change the tax structure and I think it needs to be changed, then a flat tax rate that everyone pays is the way to go. I think 10% is enough if everyone pays, no loopholes or tax shelters.

A change of subject, apparently the nutcase who flys on his motorcycle on the Alabama highway at speeds in excess of 100 mph, is back at it again. My friend and I were driving home from shopping Friday night and he passed us in the Woodstation area like we were sitting still. My friend was driving and it nearly scared her to death. I did call and report him to the police, but he was out of sight before I even dialed the number, so doubtful they caught up with him. If you are driving on 151 at night, be on the lookout for him.

Twinkie, good to hear from you, hope you are doing well. I agree with your post and familymom's, they were both good posts. For the record, I don't agree with much of what Slynay posts, just her right to post. I absolutely didn't like the poem she posted and was surprised the moderator didn't take it off, but apparently the moderator has abandoned ship. I especially like what Twinkie said about we are all Americans and it is time we do away with adding labels in front of American. My heritage is English, Irish, Welch, French, and Cherokee Indian, but I don't call myself an English, Irish, Welch, French, Native American!! I am simply an American and anyone who is born is this country is just that,an American.

Like many, I did not vote for Obama and don't like a lot of what he has done or said in the past, but that is in the past and he is now the president-elect of the country that I love and I will support and respect him and hopefully be able to trust him. I pray that he will turn this country around and get us back on the right track. He can't do it alone though and I hope that all who are in congress will work hard to put party aside and do what is best for this country.
