I think it was a very clever move on McCain's part. Many of the Hillary Democrats were considering him anyway. Obama screwed up. He did what men have done for ages. Passed over a more qualified woman for a man. That would really sting if you're a Hillary supporter.

Glad to see you back Wes. Where have you been lately?

I agree with you. I am going to have a hard time voting for anyone this time. I might even stay home cause I just don't think I can do it. I would have voted for Ron Paul if he had made it. I knew that he wouldn't though. He made too much sense. If I can find a good 3rd party candidate to vote for this time I don't think I will feel that I am throwing my vote away again like I have in the past when I have voted 3rd party. I think voting for any one of two candidates like these, where there is not a dime's worth of difference between them, is really throwing my vote away.

Labeling those of us as conspiracy theorists that ask questions won't work anymore. Just because someone doesn't take everything at face value that our government tells us only means that we think for ourselves. We are not the minority anymore. As a matter of fact It's the....It used to be the American Way>

Family Mom Wrote
"Keep in mind that if the caps gets raised and the wealthier pay more into SS, then they should also receive more themselves."

Familymom what about many that die before they recieve ss. This is disporportionately among poor and black. If you're going to use the argument that the wealthy pay in more so they should get back more--which is the governments reasoning behind the cap--then you also have to take this fact into consideration

I think that there has always been a cap but it is raised every year as incomes go up. In any given year, once you reach that amount, you don't have to pay ss anymore giving lower income people a higher effective tax rate as far as percentage of their income.

How would it punish those making more money is they have to pay SS tax on all their income just like most people. It means that those of us--most of us--making less than 100k are paying a higher percentage of our income in taxes. Why is that so hard to understand. All lifting the cap would do is make it fairer.

The argument not to impeach Bush when Clinton was impeached is getting weaker and weaker and now it is starting to get silly. There is no comparison here. Clinton was found innocent of the whitewater charges after over 4 years of investigation and too much money wasted by the repbulicans in a coup attempt. It didn't work. During the impeachment process, Clinton's approval rating rose to over 80%. You know 80%, Bush's dissaproval rating now. The ones still blaming Clinton for the problems of this administration and defending Bush are getting desperate. To take a joke from the John Stewart Show... the ones that think this administrtion is going in the right direction are on one bus going in one direction. The other 20% percent ride a much smaller bush going in the other. LOL

I think that there will eventually be investigations into the problems of this administration. With all the things that they have done so far, the congress may be a little wary of trying to impeach him. He is already talking about war with Iran again. He's a loose cannon. Better to wait until he is out of office and has no power. It wouldn't be the first time that a ruler that was off balance was backed into a corner and declared martial law. The president has the power of the military behind him. In other governments where there has been a coup (sp) all you had to do was gain control of the military. Now you might think that I am a conspiracy theorist but I am just saying, it could happen. It has happened before many times.

Ok, this used to be a minor inconvenience but now it is starting to p*** me off. I live about 4 miles from Broad Street and this weekend I was stopped by 4 red lights when there was no traffic. It's a minor inconvenience when gas was 89cents a gallon like it was 8 years ago. Now that it has crept up to $4 it is costing me money to go 1000 feet and then have to come to a complete stop. Rome city please get your red lights fixed. There is no need for anyone to have to stop at an intersection when they are the only one there. I have been driving in the middle of the night and had to stop at every light. Besides using more gas and being an aggravation, it is a safety issue. Please, get someone that knows how to do this right because whoever is in charge of it now has royally screwed it up.

msla I think that's a great idea. I know I sure could have used a wife when my kids were at home. Someone to help around the house and with the kids and just someone to help me remember everyone's schedule. And it would have been great to have someone to talk to that didn't have one eye on the TV and just nodding from time to time. Someone that likes the same kind of movies that you do. Who cares about the sex.
