It really amuses me of all this talk about Obama not having enough experience to be President. My goodness, I guess experience does not count if your talking about a republican candidate. You republicans have thought that Bush 43 (W as he is referred to) was the greatest over the past 7+ years. What experience did he have? One and a half terms as a Governor. Please.......

Is there anybody out here in Catoosa County that still recycles? Why can't we have a couple of recycling drop-off centers in the county like they have in East Ridge. Maybe one on the Fort Oglethorpe side and one on the Ringgold side.

We had curbside recycling in FO for a while. They said they did not have enough participation. But for us that did recycle it is a habit we do not want to break. Why not make it available to the ones who want to recycle. There is so much that we can keep out of our waste stream by recycling. I say every bit helps. I wonder how many square miles of our land is used for landfills? Let's reuse the things that we can. Let the county and city governments know that you think it is important. We need to do our part!

I agree with American Citizen.

What a crazy way to defend Mullis. Neals examples do not make any sense, as far as defending his buddy.

Looks like Mullis had Neal and that other lady doing his work for him, as in sitting in the back room and sending up questions as quick as they could write them.

Congrats to Coker for "showing up" and answering all questions he was asked. Hope the voters of the 53rd take note.

When a candidate, in this case in incumbent, won't even show up for a forum/debate in his own county, there is a problem somewhere. Candidates "schedules" get changed all the time when something important comes up. Guess Mullis did not think fielding questions in his "home" county was
"important enough"!

Same goes for public cable television which is an opportunity to get in front of the voters. He will be on the "Republican Talk Show", where they are afraid to take call in questions, but he won't appear on Night Talk. If your hide is not tough enough to field questons from the voters, maybe you are in the wrong profession. Sure, your are not going to recieve only "positive" calls, but that is part of it. Sends out the wrong signal to the voters when you do not participate!!

BoyntonRec person....

He has done some things. He has looked after himself. He has paid more attention to his rise in the Republican Party than to the people in his district. Don't let him fool you about his "power and influence" that he says he has. He has ONLY the power and influence that the Governor and the Republican Leadership ALLOW him to have. True, the Republicans have won more recent elections in Northwest GA. Of course, the Republican Party wants to keep it that way, so they give the local Senator and Reps some chairmanships and some extra grant money to make them look good. They figure, how can the voters not re-elect them when they appear to have some "power and influence" and they are bringing some money back.

Well it takes more than that. The voters are realizing they have been pawns in the Republican strategy to maintain their power. It may or may not be successful this time. But one thing is for sure ...it will get harder and harder to trick the voters in the future.

By the way...go see the new Robin Williams movie "Man of The Year". Great message about today's political environment.

Sorry folks, the COKER folks have been talking issues from day one! You just don't like what we are talking about:

Mullis taking huge amounts of special interest money from outside his district/state

Being paid his full Walker County salary while away three months during the legislative session earning a salary there also

Those are just two. The people of Catoosa,Chattooga and Dade should question why "their" Senator is on the payroll of "Walker" county. If he is looking out for anyone other than his large special interest donors, it would certainly be Walker County where he gets his full-time paycheck.

It is comical how Perdue and Mullis talk about protecting Georgia property owners from eminent domain. I believe the session before last it was Mullis, as Chairman of the Economic Development Committee, who tried to make it legal to take people's property and give it to developers in the name of economic development. Talk about a Flip-Flop, there he goes again.

I bet when Coker wins the election, Bebe will drop Mullis like a hot potato! She will have to...he will be a liability in her race in two years. (She should just retire and save her money though).

Nevertheless, it is going to be an exciting election night. Can't wait!!

If it's public record, and it is, tell us who it is!

Bruce discussion with the Labor Day officials had nothing to with a fallen soldier. (Your camp is running scared so you try to create situations, I guess).

The Labor Day festivities, during an election year, have always included stump speeches from the candidates, for the past 30+ years. When they had the current officials on the bandstand, during prime time, Bruce was just inquiring when the other candidates would get to address the crowd. He wasn't treated very nicely by the people in charge. Matter of fact, he was told he could speak later in the day (after the crowds had dwindled, I guess).

Bruce wasn't do anything to dishonor a fallen soldier, as much as you want people to believe. He wasn't pushing anyone around.
Yall are paranoid and running scared. You are getting worried and now you are manufacturing "tall tales".

You might be more concerned with what I have been reading about Mullis's inability to control his temper with his constituents (at the Food Lion). I believe he is losing it!

Gonna take more than that !!!
