What makes me mad in Polk County is...
10/25/2006 12:01:20 PM
I don't see anything wrong with the Move-over Law, except that it is a shame to have to pass a law that makes people do what common sense says they they should do to start with. Common sense says when there is an emergency vehicle on the side of the road that you should slow down, move over if possible, and if not, to slow down and be prepared to stop. Apparently there are way too many people with a driver's license that are "common-sense challenged", and should pay a fine for this "handicap". As for fines starting at $500, that is too low. They should start at $1000, and include the forfeiture of their license. After all, if someone is not bright enough to move over when emergency vehicles are present, then do we really want them on the road anyway? |
