I recieved a few emails from schoolcast, and one did tell me about the bomb threat, but it makes no sense that the kids were let out early and then the elementary students held over if they were released because of the weather, considering that some of the buses were already at the elementary schools collecting the students and told to put the kids back off the buses and report to the high school first. I mean come on just tell the truth, we already knew there was a bomb threat because of the calls and emails from school cast and this only took place in lafayette, the schools in rossville were not affected, they went on the regular schedules.

It is a shame that the actions of our high school are now flooding over to our middle school, but I have to ask were the children evacuated and the school searched or were they sure that this was not a legitimate threat before they took the time to review the security cameras, I am sure that they don't actually have the cameras in the restrooms, so they had to be guessing that they had the right girls just because they were in the right place at the right time. Still I agree with the punishment and I think that they need to understand that what they have done is serious, just because they are even younger than the students from the high school, they should still have to worry about this following them through life, so should the ones from the high school, then maybe this will prove a point to them and all others, that wrong is still wrong and right will prevail.

I agree that they should evacuate the school and call 911 but from what I have seen in the recent days at the high school, on the first three bomb threats, our kids didn't rank the consideration of being evacuated from the building, granted the first one was found after the kids went home and they were searched the next morning, but what about the two that were phoned in, why were our children left in the building while it was searched, that is the point I am trying to make, they didn't make sure that our kids were safe, they took the approach that it was a gag, but I have to think "What if", what if they had been wrong, zero tolerence is okay when the adults are the only ones involved, and they are willing to take that chance, but when my son is there it needs to be lets take them out check the school and let the parents know what is going on as soon as possible, not do a book bag check on tuesday because we found a threat on monday after school, and then get two more phone threats and do nothing, then finally send a note to the parents on friday afternoon telling them "it's okay because we got the ones making the threats." I am glad they got the ones that did the first three and they should be punished, but they are most likey not worried because they are juveniles and they know it will be a slap on the wrist, I think they saw what was happening at another school last month and they are following suit and doing this. but a slap on the wrist will do nothing, the punishment has got to hurt them enough to make them stop and think and make others stop and think before they decide to do something this stupid. What is it that the school tribunal is supposed to do, they can suspend the student, but that is all. And our schools need to think more about our kids, no matter what the threat or how creditable they think it is or isn't our kids should come first. It doesn't matter if you have a student at the school or not, these kids are the future and it is our responsibility as a whole to protect them and worry about them.

Okay first off I didn't say they went about it wrong, I simply said the parents should have been better informed. Some students might not have realized what was going on you know there are students that are special as in slow learners and autistic as well that just might not have understood what was happening to tell their parents. As far as it being in the paper, it wasn't there until after we were finally told in a note from the school what was going on.

As a parent of a student at the high school, I have to ask why it took us nearly a week to hear about the first bomb threat and why did the parents not know that something was going on today instead of just calling 911 and letting the students that drove leave the school while the bus riders and car riders had to wait and wonder because the buses didn't get there until regular time because they were already on routes for the Elementary school by the time that they were called. I also would like to know why some students were allowed back in the school while others were told that they would have to leave their bookbags and go home without them. Why are students special that their parents are teachers at the school or that their parents work in the office, they should have had to stay out of the building until the parents came out.

I have been sitting here reading some of the recent blogs and I have to wonder if some of us are not taking things too far at times, I know that we all have the freedom of speech, and that everyone is entitled to their opinion. I am not for or against the law enforcement, I am for finding Theresa Parker so that her family can have peace. I pray everyday for her safe return and for her family, I can't imagine what they are going through. I can't say that I pray everyday for Sam, but I do pray that if he does know something he will tell the truth what ever it may be. I don't know these people, but the story has touched me, I don't know what I would do if this was my family member. But I do know that I would be looking in on these post to see how many people cared about the story, and the people involved. I don't know how some of you can sit and argue about whether or not we should trust our local police force or not, They are not all involved, Sam has not been charged with anything, but he has been suspended, Chaffin has only been charged with lieing, and you know he will have to pay the price for that, but please don't make everyone in the police department or sherriff's office pay for what has happened. I don't know any of the people involved, and I am not familiar with any of the names that I see in these blogs. All I can say is that God will let us all know what is going on when he is ready, he has a purpose for all of this, and he knows where Theresa is and is taking care of her where ever that may be. To the Family of Theresa I am so sorry that this had to happen to your family, and I will continue to pray for you all, as for the police that are involved with this I pray that you will find Theresa and bring her back to her family, and to the people on this blog, the power of real prayer is amazing. My Name is Tammy, I am a mother of 2 and happily married right here in LaFayette. I know what I am saying probably will tick someone off but I am exercising my freedom of speech. God Bless the Family of Theresa and God bless all those out there looking for her, and God bless everyone who reads this blog.

AMEN, why is that we are just now hearing that this is even possible, and how is it possible if the creamtion process was not being used at the time. Let's recap, 300 bodies, no ashes but plenty of mercury to go around. Not likely, Wasn't his story at first, "faulty equipment, it just wasn't working properly???? Now it is Mercury poisoning. Well If you ask me 12 years is too long for any person to have to suffer, Just take the man and show him how a creamation is supposed to work you know put him in the box, put the box in the fire and watch it burn until nothing is left except ashes. Of course that is why I am not a Judge. They wouldn't like my verdict or my punishment. I truely believe that the punishment should fit the crime, If you are paid to creamate someone, and you don't do it then you should be creamated yourself for Justice.

Truth_hunter, you are right, our kids dont' have anything to do here, and that is mostly due to our city council and our city manager. every time we get something for them to do in here they raise rates on things so high or they send in the codes enforcement people to make trouble enough that the places close, we had a theater and they closed it, we had arcades and they couldn't afford to keep it open because the kids were told they couldn't be there after 7 at night, so it too closed. that is why we have nothing, they don't want our kids to do anything in this city, they are supposed to be good little girls and boys and not go out to play. I have 2 kids and they have to go to catoosa county to watch a movie, or do anything, if we had some of this in LaFayette, maybe our kids would stay out of trouble.

Well NorthGacitizen, you are entitled to your opinions, but I can tell you that if it is news in even our meager little paper, it will be news to channel 3 and 12, I have myself contacted them and I have asked them to help us get the facts since we only get a bunch of DUNG when we ask questions. I want the truth to come out, I want the best man for the public saftey director to be chosen, I don't have anything against the candidates, but I dont' trust most on the "Panel" as far as I can spit, and That ain't far. My problem is with the fact that no one really knew why our city manager left his post in Garden City, and when we asked we got nothing, just that he left it and was put in this one. Some of us are really out for the truth and some of us just want to stir up trouble. I dont'care what you think of me I have freedom of speach and in my opinion you seem to be speaking with a forked tounge, you don't support mr. arnold, but you do trust him to make a reccomendation for our city. Which is it you don't support him or you do. Congratulations on graduating College, I myself graduated from the college of life, I didnt' have the opportunity to go and learn how to do the double talking like you.

Your right, no one really likes him, but I said that works closly with him not just anyone, employees, as far as I can tell there are a few people that like him alot. but there are also those who wish he was gone. you have to sort that out, but it will get you what you are looking for call in the media, not just the messenger, but channels 3,9, and 12. If you really really want the proof, you will figure out who likes the city manager, of course the head of the electric department likes him, not to sure about his secratary, and at least one in billing likes him because she got what she wanted, but not sure about the rest. just look around you can tell who wants him gon and who wants to just keep their job and who just doesn't care they will talk about what is going on there to anyone.
