Wow! The people's voices were heard loud and clear. Maybe this will get the attention of two other council members. Let Mr. Black do his job. |

What about the fact that the county is paying the new principal over $90,000 a year for 18 months prior to the opening of the new school to design a web page. There is now conscience when it comes to spending tax payers money. If the boe raise my taxes they will lose at least one vote. Maybe we should require the boe to take 4th grade math so they can learn to add and subtract and balance a budget. |

I agree with romegasir 100%. Many of our Southern Baptist preachers tend to focus more on who is going to hell rather than the grace of God. Mathew 7.1... One would think that good christians would spend some of their offerings on feeding the poor, clothing the children and teaching the illiterate to read rather than building such large elaborate churches. |

If drugs were legal we would not have a meth problem, jail problem or economic turmoil. I don't think drugs are good by any means but the war on drugs is a bigger failure than the war in Iraq. Check out the crime rate in countries where dugs are legalized. Instead of spending billions of tax dollars maybe we should look out reversing our laws and and coming up with a solution to profit off it it and give up fighing an unwinnable war. Did we not learn anything from prohibition? |

Maybe they should outlaw ignorant people from having babies. |

If Ron is basing all of his economic philosophies on Adam Smith than perhapes we are all in trouble for the government hasn't stayed out of the business of the economy in like say forever. The economy isn't slowing down???? Tell that to all the contractors with subdivisions full of new, empty houses. Ron needs to take the Goldwater approach and quit trying to legislate morals and focus on the main issues such as the stagnate economy and the recently slumping Braves. |

I don't mind smaller government, but Clark is looking more short term and is missing the big picture. |

This oughta save catoosa county taxpayers at least $2 a year. Combine that with all the savings from the discontinuance of the Learning Center and I am looking for early retirement. |

Has anyone seen the new school districts for CATOOSA County schools? The new subdivision located 30 seconds from LFO has been rezoned for the new school while the adjacent apartment complex which is 26 seconds form LFO remains zoned for LFO. Seriously, there is not a neighborhood closer than this one to LFO. Battlefield Estates (Golf Course) which is about 3 minutes from LFO and 15 minutes from Heritage just made the grade as well: Heritage High School. There are literally students who will drive past LFO to get to Heritage. In this day and age where the state has done away with grouping students and created inclusion classes, which research shows brings the lower performing kid up; CATOOSA County has taken a step backwards. We abolished segration decades ago, we have recently created "inclusion classes" yet the BOE has decided to create school districts soley based the dollar value of homes. It is illegal to create voting disticts in this manner, it is called gerrymandering. I guess school districts do not have such standards. Obviously poor kids aren't good enough for Heritage High School while the rich are allowed to pick and choose. LFO, which is one of only 2 schools in the area (GL) to make AYP three years in a row will surely be "left behind" if the the BOE is allowed to continue its seperatist policies. |
