Still cannot believe SP hasn't told of her location.
That "no closure" must be comparable with the widow or parent/child of a war veteran MIA, or the loss of a child or watching a parent, grandparent die a slow painful death. I cannot imagine worse.
I had hoped his concious would have prevailed.
Still praying for Theresa and the family.

Sam Parker told the Atlanta news reporter that he thinks he knows where she ran to but will leave it at that. Has he told the FBI where he thinks she "ran away to"? If I were he, I'd want her found to get the police off my back. Very odd.

I still don't understand why his Mother wasn't arrested also. She was the bookkeeper and surely saw that the gas bill was down to $0 per month. Besides, what innocent person would flee town while her son was being arrested? He didn't want the job, his family forced him into it after his dd couldn't do it any longer. The mental stress apparantly overwhelmed him. I pray for him and all the families hurt by this.

Handyman: I am not "from" here but have lived here for 15 years.
Yes, outsiders are finding this bizarre. The small amount of the reward, the fact that he's acted up in the past w/ no penalties, the fact that they arrested another cop. The fact that she was a state employee and the reward is a meager $1K. I'd offer more than that for my dog.
I didn't say Lafayette was a SLUM, just stated statistical facts re: avg income, a LOT of meth labs and busts. Nothing you can't confirm in the papers or at the courthouse.
As far as my not contributing to the measly reward offered is that police close ranks and protect each other being the reason I don't feel this will be solved. It happened to a cops wife, going through a divorce in a small town. Small town politics such as last week he's out there with a gun threatening apparantly to harm himself and the local sheriff personally calls his doctor instead of arresting him as they would anyone else? Hello Mayberry, perhaps we need to call in Barney. Because Andy (steve Wilson) isn't getting it done.

I've been out of state for a few days, but saw on the news channel in the state that I was in about a missing persons case of a 911 operator in GA that the governor had issued a $1,000 reward? They showed it in a sort of "news of the wierd" kind of thing. The people there were laughing about that story, surely figuring it was a joke.
A government employer worth a mere 1K. How sad.
Lafayette, GA is a relatively med - low income family area. As well as a high meth use, manufaturing area. Therefore, money talks. I'd personally add 5K to the reward if it weren't a police-involved situation.
We will NEVER know.
And that burden on her family hurts my heart for thier hurt hearts.

Odd, most persons who wave a gun and threaten to harm themselves or others when the police are called get arrested.

I'll start us off, shall I?

If my spouse suddenly went missing during a divorce with me I would : ___________Totally freak out, know I didn't do anything and get as much info in and publicity out to find them. Take the poly - interview until the police are sick of hearing and seeing me.

If my sister suddenly went missing during a divorce I would :___________ know it was the crack head brother in law of mine. Sort of expecting it really.

My vote is this "public opinion poll" is - Husband more than likely did it. .001%

Okay, I see since the last few days that this board is getting to be like the others - people wanting to get their frustrations out by arguing and starting "crap". This is an Opinion Board where issues are Discussed. PERIOD. It is here for our opinons to muse, suggest, comment, etc. We are all entitled to our opinions and the net gives us access. So, to get back to the SUBJECT of this board - how about a poll?
If my spouse suddenly went missing during a divorce with me I would : ____________________
(i.e.: freak, think she left w/ someone, realize I didn't know her.......what?
If my sister suddenly went missing during a divorce I would :___________
(i.e.: have an idea of issues in her life, now whether she was the type to dissapear, what?
freak, think she left w/ someone, realize I didn't know her.......

Cut and pastse and do something productive. Get all perspectives?
More interesting than name calling, don't you think? Sort of a percentage poll.

From channel 4 news: Sam Parker was expected to be back on duty at the Lafayette Police Department where he's a 20 year veteran officer, but his sister called instead.
Lafayette Public Safety Director Tommy Freeman says, " She was speaking for Sam. She wanted to know if they could get more leave time to deal with problems he's facing and I granted that."
Channel Three Eyewitness News has learned Parker was in a hospital. possibly a psychiatric or rehabilitation facility late last week. We do not know if he's still there. Officially his director says he knows where Parker is, but he will not share that with us.

Well, that doesn't make him look any better in my opinion. A lot of guilty persons check into rehab to avoid being further questioned. Mark Hacking immediately comes to mind.

Well, it's day 12. Can't imagine what those close to her are going through.
It doesn't look good, for Mr. or Mrs. Parker.
IF - speculating here - IF he did do something bad to her, I hope he is man enough to tell and let her be brought home rather than be a coward and let her family be stuck in this type of suffering for years. My prayers are with them all.
