Friend..... sorry for your loss. Having lost mine in '99, I can say there are better days coming, but, more or less in the "acceptable" category, rather than "great". Nothing replaces mom. Will keep you in our prayers.Actually, I think Trevan has a good point about the date thing. Though it may not play importance in court, he raises a good point. "how did they nail it down?" Makes you wonder. There's A LOT to be learned in the coming trial. |

Well, well….I see the ‘Thought Police’ made a night raid in here last night. “Isn’t that special.”Noth-Jaw-Juh, Since when does one’s proximity to Cordell Road have anything to do with seeking justice in this case? Makes no sense. I, along with others here, live no where near there, yet, have been following this from the very first news reports. I have, due to business, visited Walker and Chattooga Counties, and, while there, physically searched woods, rivers, ravines, etc., looking for Theresa. In your opinion, I would have no ‘dog in the hunt’. Does that make you suspicious of me? What makes ME suspicious is why you would NOT want all the help you could muster, INCLUDING ‘outsiders’, to solve this case. What does THAT say? At this point, all anyone can do is hope the evidence, and prosecution, in this case are strong enough for a conviction. If the DA and LE want to play hide-&-go-seek with the public, fine….. I really don’t give a d-a-m-n, anymore! They made their bed, … they can sleep in it. But, there is a family out there that is still missing a daughter, a sister, an aunt, and a friend. In my ‘heart of hearts’ I sense they would like to have her back, regardless of her fate. I would like for them to have that desire fulfilled. THAT, Sir / Mame, is MY ‘dog’ in this hunt. To me, there is no real ‘justice’ until that has been accomplished. And, that’s all the ‘dog’ I need! When it comes to TT’s contributions here, I am thankful he’s not intimidated by narrow mindedness. And, Evan has yet to be proven wrong, so….. as you were, soldiers. Here’s a quote that fits nicely…. “Who is more foolish, the child afraid of the dark or the man afraid of the light?” ~Maurice Freehill Good day, all Check |

The Sheriff, along with other elected officials, are all subject to a quirky little thing called "public perception". Regardless of who this case was "turned over to", if the voters of Walker County have the "perception" that this case, or, something like it, was mishandled, or..... if they are just unhappy with the way its gone down, no matter who's in charge..... no matter who the DA is.... no matter who the Sheriff is.... they may just vote for a change out of frustration. Happens frequently. While there is no obvious fault on the Sheriff, there IS the "perception" that something is just not right with this whole thing. The Sheriff may have to face that. But, of course, if he has no opposition ....... this becomes a moot point. |

There was also speculation that the flashing light could have been from a detour / caution marker. As you may remember, Hwy 27 was under heavy construction at the time from 136 to Trion. The easy assumption being, with it being so close to Cordell Road, Hwy 27 could have been a ready-made location-of-choice. But, without specific information, there was little chance of searching there. Its not known by the public if any investigation of 27 was ever considered, or, made. |

Thanks, Vocal. ' Been waiting on that response. The answer doesn't surprise me, what with the foregoing ways this has all been handled, but, it does increase the question marks.? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? What / How would it hurt the case for the public to know the areas searched? I don't get it. Check |

TMajik, Just a reminder of the rules of engagement here. Not quite sure where you're headed with this, whether you're kidding, or what, but, you may want to review the Posting Policy you agreed to when you signed up on this site.http://www1.romenews-tribune.com/soundoff/policy Whether intentional or not, you're appearing a bit threatening / daunting to another poster. I don't think that's allowed. |

Hello, Friend, GAgal, Please, et al.....Yeah, I know there are many still watching & waiting.... I wonder if there are any new directions of thought as to where Theresa could possibly be. It would be helpful to even have some dependable information of ideas /areas tried, and eliminated, such as 'the old well on the X-Y-Z property in southern Walker County'. Can't see where that would hurt the case..... like, "No need to search this area over here. We've already investigated & eliminated it." We know of some areas like that, of course, but, I'd like to see a comprehensive list, or map (an official one), so we could better aid LE in locating her. I dunno. I just really hate the thought that she, or, anyone for that matter, is just "out there", somewhere, waiting to be 'forgotten'. ' Doesn't sit right with me. And, frankly, I'm mad as he** that LE still has it's gag on, unable to utilize one of its most important tools.... the Public! But, I digress........ Thoughts & prayers for the family, as always. Check BTW, Please, ' couldn't agree more! |

I'm supposing there was a "deal" made in his sentencing for giving up her location. The story didn't mention that, but, reading between the lines, one would assume so. Once he knew his fate, he started bargaining.
Hopefully, there' will be a similar outcome with Theresa's case.
Thanks.
