There seems to be no where to respond or post to the following story so I will respond here.My response is that I sure hope that this will include Waverly Park. I have been very vocal on the numerous problems with septic tanks and water here in Waverly Park and I just hope that the money is spent on sewers. Hopefully with the election coming up the "Council" will keep a close "eye" on the funds for this and put it where it needs to be. If not, its election and we can always round up another council to finish the project. That usually seems to be the only way to get these "projects done. Maybe not in all cases but in some. To me, sewers and roads should be the number one priorities for Catoosa County to be working on. Catoosa, Dade getting funds for sewer improvements 04/21/08 Email this story to a friend Catoosa County and Dade County will received funds through the Georgia Environmental Facilities Authority help pay for sewer infrastructure, Gov. Sonny Perdue announced Monday. Catoosa County was approved for a Georgia Fund sewer grant of $50,000 to help finance a sewer extension to serve the Lakeview Community. The work will take 40 homes off private septic tanks. The remainder of the $550,000 total project cost will be provided by the Department of Community Affairs through a $500,000 Community Development Block Grant. The Dade County Water and Sewer Authority was approved for a Georgia Fund loan of $900,000 to construct an elevated storage tank and water mains sufficient to serve homes in the Mount Carmel community of neighboring Walker County. Dade County Water and Sewer Authority will pay 4.1 percent interest on the 20-year loan. GEFA is financing the entire estimated cost of $900,000. |

I am all for HB89 to pass. When I was growing up we lived in Colorado. It is a completely different way of life compared to down here. Out there everybody carries a gun, even in bars. You dont have the crime rate like you do out here and people mind there own business and leave people alone as it should be. If a thief thinks he is going to get his head blowed off when he breaks in a house or goes to rob some one he may think twice and if he does go through with it he will only do it once. Remember Charles Bronson in the Death Wish movies? If criminals thought that every house they entered might have a "Charles Bronson" living there would they enter that house? I dont have a conceal permit but if I was somewhere such as a park and some crazy person came in there to rob someone hopefully there might be a citizen with a gun who could protect the people in the park and put a stop to it. |

Another email I sent to the Commissioners...Commissioners, I sent an email about three weeks ago about Waverly Park and how bad we need sewers. I did not even get an acknowledgement that you received the email. Sewers run up Castleberry and there is a pump station there and then it STOPS. Why doesn't Waverly Park have sewers? There was money earmarked for sewer projects from what I understand and have heard. I am having big problems over this with a neighbor who is retired and has nothing better to do but harass me about my septic tank leaking. I spent over $400 last summer and now here it is summer again and its nothing but problems again. I think its time for the County to step up to the plate and do what they were elected to do. Take care of the PEOPLE, see that there needs get met. I do believe that my septic tank is more important than passing a barking dog ordinance. I know most of you guys on the council and I had hoped better for the county when some of you were elected but I am disappointed at how things have been handled. Barking dogs, annexation, ball fields, franchise fees... these things have all been discussed in great detail at council meetings. I think its time to start talking about Waverly Park and the rest of the county that doesn't have sewers who have been waiting for twenty or thirty years. |

I posted this about six months and still no change..There really needs to be a way to start your own threads on here. I know you say you are working on it but that has been on here a while. You may want to look at another service for your SOUND OFF. There are lots of other providers of this service that would be much better than what you have now. This sure is a long time to be "working on something" Sound like Catoosa County Government!! |

I have lived in Catoosa County for about 15 years now. I bought a house in Waverly Park inDecember of 2005. During the last 3 years I have had nothing but problems. The main problem I have is SEWERS. I spent over $400 in 2007 for septic repairs and it looks like I am having some problems again with my leech field. My neighbors are not considerate enough to tell me if I have a problem I do not know about, they just call and complain with no consideration at all. Incidentally my neighbors had a bid on my house and he did not get it so he uses every little thing he can to harass me and my family. Waverly Park needs SEWERS very bad. The ground barely perks. The houses in this neighborhood were built over 40 years ago and there are a lot more people living in these houses than what these old septic tanks can handle. These conditions are unacceptable. Waverly Park needs SEWERS. Are sewers run on Castleberry? What happened to Waverly Park? I don't have 2 or 3 thousand dollars to spend on a new septic system. I do not know what the hold up is but something MUST be done. About the time I scrape up enough money on a new septic system, construction will probably start on sewers and I am out all that money that I could have allocated elsewhere. Again, these conditions are unacceptable and these issues MUST be addressed. |

My daughter went to school with this guy and this is such a waste of life. I do hope that other kids see this as something they dont need to get involved in. Under age drinking is fatal. The persons that gave these kids the drinks would probably not make it to trial if my kids were involved but then again you never know what you might do in a given situation. I just feel its such a waste of a young life. My daughter also knew Robbie Baker that got shot back last year and that to was such a waste. Robbie was actually my niece's boyfriend. |

Does any one know of a Catoosa County Blog where you can start your own thread? There are so many more things going on that people want to talk about but this Blog does not have the technology to post new threads. I made this suggestion before but I really dont think this area gets read to often. I am sure they only want to promote the stories in thier paper which makes sense but never the less there still needs to be a Catoosa County Blog to post new topics and threads. |

I cant believe that the tax payers money is wasted on something like this. This is an absolute out rage that 4 or 5 bags of cans that are "UNDER MY PORCH" constitutes a violation. If I had these in the middle of my yard I might expect a citation. This is nothing but a neighbor that has harassed me for the last 3 years because he didn't get the bid on the house I bought. He has tried every little thing he can to try and harass me and my family at the counties expense and the county is enabling the harassment by writing these things up, giving my neighbor more leverage to further harass my family. This needs to be addressed. I don't have the time to go to meetings and don't have the time to waste on such nonsense, but it is the job of the Commissioners to look out for the welfare of its constituents. This is not being done in my case. You need to look at these pictures (pictures are not in this blog) and ask yourself is this a violation, or just someone trying save a few cans and maybe have a little spending money when they are cashed in?? The only way to stop these type people who think they OWN everyone is to stop enabling them and giving in to useless complaints. This Commission and county employees need to take a look at why they got into office and why they went to work for the county in the first place and ask there self did I do a good job today?
I am not necessarily griping at one particular person or the person that wrote the warning as they are doing what they are told. What I am griping at is the way the county handles these type complaints. It is such a waste of time and talent to give in to useless complaints that are nothing more than fuel for a "harassing" agenda. I cant say for sure which neighbor did complain but I am 99% sure who it is. I think its time for the Zoning Board and Commission to take a look at some these frivolous ordinances and start working for "Community" again. Lets get rid of this writing out citations for every little complaint that comes across the phone. I think if a person makes a complaint then they should have to give there name and the Zoning Officer should talk to both owners of a dwelling before issuing a warning or citation. Start working with the "people" and help them work out problems. Lets do away with the enabling and make this a better community for our Kids and grand kids.
By the way, I did take my cans to the recycle center. I was planning on waiting a little longer so I would get more money for them. I got a little over $4 (Four Dollars). That's how many cans I had.
