Amen shadow! The voters actually hold the power and don't exercise it.

Voters: If you agree with everything that is going on in our county and our country then on elction day this November go about your usual activities and don't vote, but if you are tired of high gas prices, the war in Irag... then go vote. Even if your candidate does not win you will have a sense of pride because you tried, you stood up for what you beleive in. Many people would love to be in your shoes and live in America where we have so many freedoms and so many don't even exercise them.

volfirefighteronce and anotherff,

With all this corruption that you see taking place in this small web that has been woven don't you feel it is time for a change? Does Andy Hames have webs in the fire department? No, well lets bring him in. Tuesday we all have the chance to put a stop to this madness.

Everyone keeps saying that county employees are afraid to vote against Bebe, she will not know who you vote for and if she does then she needs to be dismissed and you need to go file that major lawsuit that you would have gainst her. just my opinion!

That is the problem in this county everyone is so afraid to rock the boat and when you don't you justify the power that they THINK they have. You justify the dictators position. You become an enabler.

Stand up for what you beleive in and make a difference on Tuesday help get us out of the mess we are in, take the power away from the ones who abuse it. If you are afraid to vote then your rights have already been taken from you. You know you have the right to free speech or else you would not be on this blog. Now, take back your right to vote. If you are not going to exercise your rights that so many in the military have fought for, then there were lots who died in vain.

TUESDAY VOTE FOR ANDY HAMES!

Youngpup,
I am sure that Bebe has made alot of improvements in the county, but she has also wasted taxpayer money too. Bebe created a job for Jeff Mullis and claimed that it was much needed in order to justify the money that she was paying him. Now Jeff Mullis is Chairman of NWGJDA (or something like that) and we along with Dade and Chattooga Counties are paying him approx. 1088.00 per day to bring business in to the tri-counties. Can you justify this for me?
Yes Andy Hames is a nice guy and Andy Hames will also make a nice commissioner.

My hat is off to you too! There are so many people on this blog that think they have it all figured out and some times they think they have us figured out too but just as Sbrown continues to try and tell them some of their information is misguided.

SBrown:
Do you feel as I do that it is none of anyones business if you are a Republican or a Democrat? People who vote for a man or woman simply because of the party they belong to instead of what they stand for is really miss out. I vote for the man and no one on this blog will ever make me feel guilty for that nor do I thinl they will you. Continue to stand up for yourself and those you trust.

youngpup,
my point is there are cuts that can be made by the county and we should eliminate wasteful spending and if you were to calculate in what we are spending on gas for those who get to take a company car home it would make their salary seem incredibly outrageous. And yes I will try to contact someone who knows for sure about the school and gas situation.

Young pup,
I understand that a company car is standard in alot of jobs with alot of companies, I myself worked in a job for many years where I had a company car. I did not use the company car as a personal vehicle but do understand how easy it would be for someone to do so. The way I see it these individuals are basicaly getting a raise in salary every day that gas prices go up. If I were commisioner I would, I would take alot of time looking into this it would be simple to trck the mileage to and from the employees residence and back to work ...do these employees keep a mileage log? If not as a taxpayer I would request that they do so and it needs to be part of someones job to monitor this. Where is the gas or fuel purchased or taken from and how much is the bill each month for the total consumption of fuel or gas by the county.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I beleive that someone told me about two years ago school in Walker County was closed for a couple of days due to gas hitting $3.00. I would love to know if this is true, if so it would justify my point. We should not allow county employees to waste money that is needed by the school system.
If anyone knows if this is true or not please let us know and I would love to know what it costs to run county buses for one day and then lets decide which is more important getting kids to school or letting county employees use their cars for personal use.

Rayjay5: Whom are you directing your comment at?

Shadow: You make very good points and are correct. When people can't afford to put gas in their car or food on the table the last thing on their mind is tourism.

Walker mommy: Who actually owns the railroad spur and surrounding land?
