I wondered about Rome. Hello Rome - drop us a line and let us know you are OK. |

You are probably right, they know they have no case. The bad part is, she won't have a case against them either. A citizen has almost no recourse when falsely accused. The police department has all but immunity when they ruin lives. Unless you can prove they did so with malice, your life is just over. As far as them not wanting to look stupid, hate to tell them but that horse is already out of the barn. |

This is a shining example of all that is wrong with the judicial system. She was arrested months ago, and still hasn't been indicted. One indicted, it may take two years to get a trial. That is just WRONG. Staying neutral in the topic, if she is guilty, she is free when she shouldn't be. If she is innocent, the trial would prevent her life from being destroyed. Either way is not good for anyone. She should have been allowed to prove her innocence immediately. |

I think this is off the radar screen for media coverage because the guys have been arrested. I think the media should be following this and I wish they would. If the national media knew all of the corruption in the LMJCC, they would no doubt be asking questions and I suspect getting these trials sped up. Right now, the courts can lay back and let time pass and the public outcry is gone. I'm not supporting this, just stating the sad truth. The courts here do not care about truth. It's all about what is best for the courts. |

I see that the Board of Education has fired the teacher. What a travesty, should she be innocent. At this point, she has not been indicted, she has not been to so much as a pre-trial hearing. Basically, according to her rights, she is innocent. The Board has fired an innocent woman. I don't want any child to be abused, but this woman will never be able to get her good name back. According to published reports, two of the children who were involved have already been eliminated as victims. It sounds like the parents of these children have ruined a lady's life with little to no evidence. The Catoosa sheriff's department couldn't investigate a crime if it was on film in their own lobby. If these parents are proven to have done this vindictively, they should be jailed for as long as a child molester. I understand her bond says she can't be around children. That is one of the long list of violations of the teacher's civil rights. Yes, the children have rights and should not be taken lightly. But you cannot be this quick to take away someone's job. The investigation should have been done before the arrest and a trial should have taken place immediately. Dragging this out for months is not helping anyone. Again, a failure of the LMJCC in whole. |

It's sad that this small group of bloggers is more concerned about this, apparently, than the judicial system. |

I sure hope that they don't mess this one up. My confidence is long gone for every step of the system around here (not in relation to this case) in general. |

We need to keep up the pressure on this case. Does anyone have any ideas about what we could be doing to help? Family, is there anything we could do for you? Is there anything the public might be able to do to help law enforcement? Not saying he's innocent, but is law enforcement trying to solve the case, or are they trying to build a case against Sam? I believe we all want real justice, not just a conviction. |
