Oops, one more thing - for those of you who kept saying, blogging, calling into the Judy O' show, and living for the day that Black was going to be fired - where are you now? Looks like that didn't happen. And don't believe the hype that he did this because he saw the writing on the wall. |

What gets my {sassy} goat is people from other counties, always blogging and calling the Judy O' show to complain about Catoosa and in particular the city of Fort O. I don't see other's from Catoosa calling in to complain about Lafayette or Dalton or Chickamauga. |

Roscoe - why shouldn't Doug Howell come back if he is qualified? Not like we don't have 2 former chiefs on the PD now (3 before Red retired). Rome - again, sir, you made me laugh. ByGrace - why do you (and everyone else for that matter) keep referring to Brandon and Hamm as the two preachers? Sure, they are, but they are also plumbers. And Brandon is a volunteer fireman. Hoosiermama - You can't recall the City Manager. My prediction (after listening to the Sassy Goat Milk & Earl show) that everyone's good buddy as Roscoe put it - Jim Dinley - will put in his application. Expect to see him on the Judy O' Show if he does. My wish for FO is that Cobb keeps his honesty and integrity promise. His speech last Monday at the council, apologizing to anyone that he had previously wronged is a great step in the right direction. If he can just keep his cool and not get combative with the other council members and most of all the citizens, and keep his promise to stay out of day-to-day affairs of the city, I think he will do just fine. |

Asif - I cannot disagree with anything you said. Well, maybe... but nonetheless I agree. |

Asif - I do feel the same way about Judd's body language. But I will say, all of the ugly comments being made from the 'citizens' as the meeting was underway - at almost anything and everything Judd, Brandon, or Hamm did, were equally as rude. (Again I would like a headcount to see how many were there, excluding minors, and how many actually live in the city.) Judd did ask for the motion to adjourn. It was Silcox who made it. As some of the real citizens left the meeting, they were heckled by the peanut gallery. Now that really makes someone want to live in our city and attend the meetings.I keep hearing how Brandon and Hamm and Moye are Judd's puppets. If that is the case, why isn't Black already gone? Why isn't "their boy" Goulart already city manager? Look, I am not happy at some of the actions of individual council members either. But I don't think everything each of them do is orchestrated by the puppet master Burkhart. Brandon and his church have no bearing on the council. If you don't like his church or his dogma, then don't attend. I don't see what that has to do with him having the same views as Judd, or Silcox or Cobb for that matter. Grace - Moye and Burkhart took the higher route in their campaigning by pointing out what they had done, and what they would continue to support. I don't see anything wrong with that. In fact, you would think that would appeal to voters. Egeland's ads were negative against Jane and Judd. He didn't mention his opponent at all, nor did he tout what he had done and what he would do in the future, except buck Jane and Judd if re-elected. Cobb ran on honesty and integrity and stopping all of the firing and turmoil in the city. Negative, but with a ring of truth (though I am reminded he was on the council for 4 years prior to Brandon and Hamm and had a hand in some of the firings and turmoil in the past). Again, where are these comments about the current council coming from? Mainly from the callers and host of the Sassy Goat Milk show. On Judy O's show last week it was said that A) Judd wanted to be sessions court judge (which he can't be), B) Judd wanted to be city manager (which he can't be), C) Goulart wanted to be city manager. Which is it? The rumor mill needs to get their stories straight. Are things going right with the city right now? No. But I wish everyone would quit looking for the devil to appear every time a rabid comment is made on Judy's show. Maybe they should look at the callers and see what is in their heart?!? Lastly, as for sour grapes, where was Egeland? |

I would like to hear someone say what Judd or Jane did wrong. As they have stated, the charter does not allow them to hear Black's appeal. Is that the best thing? No. But what can they do about it? Nothing, save change the charter.Twice last night Silcox went off track and tried to make the rest of the council out to be idiots. On the first item, the issue of the ad for city manager, it was discussed in the work session and Harold didn't want any part of it. During open session, he went on a tirade how seemingly the mayor and others were trying to stop him from running the ad. Trying to slow down the process. He had to be reminded by Moye, Burkhart and Brandon that neither he nor the city manager had the authority spend the money required for an ad of that size. The council wanted to discuss it in the work session. Since Harold didn't want to, we now have to wait 2 more weeks. Secondly, he complained (and rightly so) that Black shouldn't have to have his appeal heard by Goulart, the same person who reprimanded him. HOWEVER, it was brought to Harold's attention before the open session as well as in open session that Black cannot have his appeal heard by the council. He wanted to argue about it and imply that Goulart, or Burkhart were doing something shady. Will the real slim shady please stand up... please stand up... By the way, Earl Townsend is an idiot. He asked the Cobb be made interim city manager until the 1st of the year. The charter states that an elected official cannot hold city employment for 1 year after his term has ended. Likewise, a city employee cannot be in public office. You can argue that Cobb's term hasn't started yet, but we all know it would be a conflict of interest. Lastly, if you notice, it was HAROLD SILCOX who made the motion to adjourn the meeting since there were no citizen's comments on the agenda. |

God forbid you file a formal complaint. All hell will break loose... and as you said, juga, supervisors hear these things all the time (and I read into that not much comes of it). Still, all in all, we do have a good crop of peace officers in FO and we shouldn't let a few rotten apples spoil the rest. Oh, sorry, I was channeling Judy O... |

rome, if that's all the document said, it really isn't a petition is it? Black commented it was a petition for the FOPD to stop harrasing citizens. I would like to read it for myself.Black says only two signed the petition, Burkhart says there three. Either way, Hamm signed it. I do give him a little more credibility than Burhart and Goulart. |

I just thought of something. Judy O, as she read my post on-air last night, denied she accepted Goulart's offer for her to come to his office. Actually (and you know I hate admitting this), she may be right. She didn't come right out and say she would go, but she did joke about it and tell Roger she was going to take him and that she might even record it. I just assumed she would go. But Judy, why wouldn't you want to go? Why after having given a forum on your show for everyone to comment (including you sharing your opinions along with Roger and intimating that you knew the real truth). This goes to my point. You don't want to give equal time to both sides, regardless if you disagree with it. So please, Judy O (and no, I don't know you), go to Goulart's office and find out what he has to say and the proof he has and share it with the public. If not, let it go. Signed, A fan of Sassy Goat Milk (we need a spellcheck on here, especially now that Judy O might read these on-air) |

What gets my goat about all of this (pun intended) is, no matter who you were pulling for, is how brash Judy O' can be when confronted with the truth by her callers. She will often say (when it is convenient) that people are free to call in and talk about whatever they wish. What she fails to state is that when they do, and she disagrees with the callers, she acts disinterested, rude, defensive and most of the time down right argumentative. My case in point is last night's 'concession speech' by Col. Bill.
Bill stated last night that a)They were down but THEY were not out; b) he had 5 months to raise hell; and, c) had some things he wanted to do but felt he shouldn't do them while there was an election going on.
Now ask yourself, if the unfinished business was above-board, why wouldn't Col. Bill have gone ahead with his plans, even during the election? If Bill's agenda was good for the county, why did he have to state he was going to raise hell? If the mumbling colonel wasn't in cahoots with Ricky and Bobby, then who are the 'THEY' he was referring to when he said THEY were down but not out? And lastly, how did Judy O' not pick up on this and better yet, why did she get defensive and rude to the caller that pointed this out to her this morning?
Judy O' wears her politics on her sleeves but thinks she has everyone fooled and no one knows who she is pulling for. She doesn't. She thinks she's the voice of the community. She isn't. She continually comments on how many friends she has and how she is plugged into the inner workings of North West Georgia. She's not.
Lastly, before someone tells me if I don't like her to switch the channel - let me just say this. I rarely watch her station execpt during local election time. Though I was surprised to hear how many people called last night to ask if Ken Marks won his election. I don't watch her station because I have no need for tires off of a 1972 'Cuda for $25.00, I could careless about her GURL Friendz, and am not in need of an Elvis impersonating bail bondsman (at this time).
P.S.
Watch out Peggy and Stella. She found out last night you were campaigning for the enemy. Your 15 minutes of fame is almost up. When you cross her, you will be banished from the airwaves of Catoosa county for ever. Just ask Frank Elder, BJ Darnell, Joan Copeland.... etc etc..
