If we deide it is ok to infringe on the 2nd ammendment, then I guess we can eventually infringe on the 1st..or all of them. That is not a far-fetched idea, either. |

Obama gave no support for Heller vs DC....that was 2008:-) Actually that was a couple of months ago!Banning assault rifles will NOT keep criminals from getting them. Maggie, I agree....I wish the government would shrink and stay out of my business. If I wanted BIG government (or if our Founding Fathers did as well) we could all be British. I like Cindy McCain as well. I really like that she works quietly and does not go on stage to give her political views. She does quite a bit of charity type work. |

Can you even imagine giving a speach in front of so many people? She did not act at all like she was nervous. I would pass out!!!lolOh...did you all see her adorable daughter Piper holding the baby and then licking her hand to smooth his hair out? That was so cute! |

HA-ha!!!! Obama is VERY MUCH against guns. He stated in 2001 that he did not believe people should own guns. He is also against not only assault rifles but semi-automatic weapons. Do you know how many guns fall into that category?Whew...speaking of being spoon fed info. You might look up his voting record with regards to guns. Now, some of you might be against guns as well. That is fine as long as I can keep mine. My goodness...it would be so nice if we could actually keep the Constitution a legal and binding document. BTW, a ban on assault rifles is not being a gun rights supporter. Re: Palin A speech writer might have written the speech, but she delivered it well. Quit giving all of the credit to the writers. Obama had writers as well...I never hear anyone giving all of the glory to the writers in that instance. |

Let's not forget that Obama is anti-gun.As an NRA member, Obama is a threat to the 2nd ammendment....that's enough for me to not vote for him. I agree with Maggie as well. He is too liberal for me. |

Palin gave a great speech...so did Thompson. The liberals hate Palin and fear she will win and bring morals and faith back to the White House. The Hillary supporters are full of themselves to assume that Palin was picked just to "court the Hillary votes." Palin was picked to reform Washington and strengthen the conservative base. I do not expect any liberals to say anything positive about lastnight's speeches. Tat's ok. I feel the same about Obama.....I think he is full of fluff:-) |

I would rather have tough economic times in a free, capitalistic nation than in a nation run solely by the government. |

I am a supporter of McCain regardless of his VP pick, yes. I do not look at the Palin pick as a way to get women voters...I think kit is a way to get conservative voters. I love Palin because she is a conservative, not because she is a woman.I was probably on the fence with Hillary...but no way I will ever vote Obama. I agree that people either hate or love the Clintons. Governors do more than Senators as far as budgets and programs, so Palin actually has MORE executive experience than Obama. |

Palin has more executive experience than Obama. She has actually "run" things while serving office. The women's movement just became a republican movement. She's a true conservative. He made a smart move in choosing her. She has a proven record of shaking things up and promoting change. |
