Hold on cowboy........"I believe a lot of people are afraid to let people know that they support Obama in fear of the ignorance that exists in this area." Chris, that ignorance that the elderly couple is afraid of is not born and bred in Walker County. The ignorance is everywhere. You probably didn't mean that like it sounded, so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. In my yard, and believe me I'm catching h _ _ _ for it, I do have an Obama sign, right next to my Steve Wilson for Sheriff sign :) . I don't know if Steve appreciates the company or not, but if he doesn't, he knows where he can pick his sign up at. True, you do have some crazies out there, but that's everyplace you go. I hope Obama IS elected, but the sad part of it is you don't know if something will happen to him or not because of that "crazy" factor. He could do this country some good. I have no doubt he couldn't do any worse than the last 8. As far as being concerned about someone stealing his sign, and again I don't know if Obama would appreciate this or not, this property is protected by S&W. VWN |

Point being, for every degrading post made about Obama, three can be made on McCain. Level-headed discussions seem to be in order.VWN |

"[C]ertainly in the short term, or even the long term, I would not support repeal of Roe v. Wade, which would then force X number of women in America to undergo illegal and dangerous operations." John McCain, repeated three other times during the campaign. |

To be a republican today, you've got to believe a woman can't be trusted with decisions about her own body, but multi-national corporations can make decisions affecting all mankind without regulation. |

I too am a Democrat, but obviously not a paranoid Democrat. Twinkie's comment "If you believe.." was a generalized comment. Let's keep it real. And, to tell you the absolute truth, your comment, "I'd like for you to know that I am a democrat, not in spite of being a Christian, but because I am a Christian," borders on the line of saying Republicans are not Christian. What do you say we draw the line before this gets out of hand? I know some fine people, my parents (God rest their souls) for two, who were devout Republicans. But you know what? They had the right to believe as they chose. But because they were Republican, that did not make them bad people. Don't make the mistake of leaving Republicans out of the Christian equation. There are some stone-cold idiots who call themselves Democrats as well as there being some on the Republican side. Seems to me like you're stirring the pot a little bit.
