Of course there is always the chance that sheriff Summers version is accurate, when he stated the she refused to be interviewed by investigators and her attorney refused to agree to a "stipulated" polygraph test.

According to the Sheriff, a "stipulated" polygraph test may be presented as evidence. Hmmmm... I wonder what else could be agreed upon as "stipulated evidence"?

If Ms. Craft and her attorney agreed to a polygraph test to validate her innocence, perhaps you two can convince her to have her statements analyzed for reverse speech. I don't have any idea how it will turn out , but I'm certain the "truth" will be revealed whatever it may be. Her attorney is complaining that her story hasn't been given a chance to be told through a polygraph. I am willing to help her story be told with her own words!

I would say that you haven't really spent any time researching the phenomena of reverse speech. I believe I've already covered this, but since your comments make sense for a change I don't mind repeating myself. Perhaps I can try it a different way.

David Oates discovered reverse speech about 25 years ago, and has dozens of articles on the subject which includes the results of independent researchers. He also has at least hundreds of examples from many different settings. One of those includes that of music. Some musicians, most notably The Beatles, intentionally put messages in reverse, which is known as backward masking and has nothing to do with naturally occurring speech reversals. The following is an excerpt of an article from reversespeech.com, concerning the notion that people can be influenced by what they hear in speech reversals, which was conducted by independent researchers.

...Vokey and Read (1985) had subjects listen for phrases that they themselves could hear in a backward playing of recordings of Jabberwockey and the 23rd Psalm. They then asked subjects if they could hear these same phrases, and other phrases that Vokey and Read did not hear in the recordings. Subjects were in agreement with the researchers "assignment of the passages" of the time (p1237). Vokey and Read conclude that "people do in fact" "intelligible phrases in streams of backward speech" (p. 1237). They also found that "people cannot be induced to hear virtually anything in backward speech" (p1237). In other words subjects heard phrases that Vokey and Read heard and told subjects were there, and did not hear phrases that Vokey and Read did not hear but said were there...

A brief explanation of Reverse Speech is that it is messages from the unconscious mind embedded backward into speech. Reverse Speech is revealed when listening to a recording of someone talking, and reversing the audio. Amongst the gibberish, speech reversals occur on average about every 20 seconds. Unlike a polygraph test, speech reversals come from our unconscious mind. There currently is no known way consciously for someone to manipulate what is produced, and therefore can be deemed as highly reliable. Speech reversals will add to information left out in normal speech, negate forward speech with the truth if a lie is told, and reveal how one truly feels about a subject. A speech reversal can occur even if someone is talking about one subject, but thinking of another.

Great point. I was also going to mention that it would be an excellent idea to have the adults that are doing the accusing, have their statements analyzed for speech reversals also. If they are lying, charges should be made against hem.

Reverse speech isn't admissible either, but they are accurate, and least the truth would be revealed which means investigators could take a certain and positive direction.

The problem is Trevan, it is not perceived that there is enough, or any evidence to go to trial. At the press conference announcing Sp's arrest, all that Sheriff Wilson would say was it was the right time to make the arrest. - Why then? Was it to keep SP from a public lynching, or do they actually have substantial evidence against him? SP stated in a news interview that sheriff Wilson told him to hide out in a hospital under an assumed name for his own protection.

Also Trevan, would these be the same "smarter and more degreed" people that might be the first to call for a polygraph test to focus an investigation, but are willing to completely ignore more than 50 known speech reversals from Sam P.'s mouth?

Perhaps Trevan can explain why LE is keeping search areas that have been completed with the publics help looking for Theresa a secret, and how that shouldn't be perceived as a cover up!?

If the public wants to conduct organized searches why is LE not helping with that? (Perhaps that brings up another question. Does Theresa's family want more coordinated searches done?)

It has become apparent to me that LE is looking at this case as being about SP rather than finding Theresa. To quote TT "...But, they would appreciate it if all citizens would continue to search their back yards. Look under any old tin, wood piles, garbage heaps and old cars..."

But alas, WTVC News Channel 9 last week reported - The number to a telephone tip line, set up earlier this year, has been changed. Starting today anyone with clues that may lead investigators closer to finding her body can call 706-638-1909, ext. 239. From my experience, it kind of seems like a make the public feel good number. (Curious to me that the findtheresaparker.com website has not updated the new number.)

Perhaps the FBI can recount a tale from Waco Texas where they and the ATF raided David Koresh's Branch Davidian cult to the GBI. The Austrailian researcher David John Oates reviewed audio of David Koresh and advised LE how to handle him based upon Koresh's speech reversals. The following are excerpts of that story from his book "Its Only A Metaphor." He also explains why he no longer works with American LE.

... I taped Koresh from TV broadcasts and wrote a rather lengthy report based on the speech reversals I found. I sent the report to the FBI through two different sources...

My report gave a profile of David Koresh. It detailed three approaches the FBI could use to get him out. One was simply to have his mother or grandmother enter the compound and ask him to leave. The reversals told me he would listen to them and quit. The other way was to have everyone go away. Speech reversals said that the more the negotiators talked to him, the more he would dig his heels in, the more Messianic he would become, and the more he would not leave. The two prime solutions, according to reverse speech, was to either have his mother go in or have everyone else go way. Both would have worked and he would have come out peacefully...

...Then, as we all know, nothing worked. The siege came and went and the compound burned down and everyone, men women and children, died. Like many people I was furious watching it on television, especially seeing them send his mother and grandmother away and then just digging their heels in and doing everything wrong. The outcome was inevitable according to the speech reversals and I was horrified, but not all that surprised, when the ultimate tragedy occurred. It had been predicted backwards. Something was going to break and either Koresh was going to kill everyone, or the cops would.

My real surprise came the following day, as I tried to put it behind me, when I got a phone call from the FBI in Washington DC. Apparently my little report, which I assumed had just gathered dust on some agent's desk, had made more of an impact than I had realized. In fact the man I was speaking to was quite concerned that it would come to light that they had this report in their hands and had taken no action on it. It was all too accurate, he said.

Then he said something that surprised me. According to him, certain people were still a little shaken by Simone and Desert Storm and did not want to be asked any questions about reverse speech on the floor of Congress. I was amazed because I did not know that I had been taken that seriously. He further told me that it was in my best interests to remain quiet for a few months and not tell anyone about my involvement. He essentially said that if I was a good boy, once all this had died down they would take another serious look at reverse speech and do something with it. If, however, I decided to go to the press they would have no choice but to discredit me and I would be, quote, unquote, "Crushed."

The sting of those last words ring in my ear today as I write this book, and even now every time I see a police officer I still hear them echoing in my mind...

Substantial damage was done to my innocence at that stage and I was no longer an Aussie from the outback. This was supposed to be America's illustrious law enforcement agencies speaking to me, but in my mind they sounded more like out of control school yard bullies. I wondered who the real enemy was and I was so disgusted by it that from that moment on I ceased working with law enforcement. When my classes later resumed I refused entry to the one and only local police officer who did apply. There was no way I was going to give my technology to thugs!

...and I finally learned not to trust the dangerous forked tongue of American law enforcement. They had not spoken a truthful word to me yet. The words of Christ echoed in my mind. "Don't cast your pearls before swine." That attitude and a high level of anger stills exists today although, foolishly, I still have hope. Perhaps it was just the isolated bad seed that had spoken to me. Time will tell.
